It's a shame that the name hardcore has been forever tinged by happy hardcore. Even the originators rarely use the word now, it annoys me when they talk about playing "drum & bass" in 1991 as if anybody called it that back then, but I guess if they started talking about hardcore everyone would just assume Toy Town.

Blimey, i don't ever remember hearing it called that BITD. It was just "rave" or "hardcore". I don't remember the term "Old Skool" being used until 95/96 time.
