Was listening to Annie mac the other day when suddenly some tune comes on that sounds like '95 jump up with mc gq just shouting over the top.



It's getting amazing reviews for what essentially is just hmp runninz and trouble on vinyl vol 4 with a few rave mc samples.
Could this be a revival for jump up stuff?
Wasn't really my favourite era tbh and looking back musically it was a bit naff. I find it a bit laughable that it's being bigged up so much.

Anyway, haven't been on here for ages. Hope everyone has a nice Christmas.

quite like it. there was a huge amount of dross in this style around at the time but what i did like about it was the non reliance on Amen, cf the ragga jungle period. The beats were pretty interesting and funky but even though i was/am a massive hip hop head, i found the sampling (generally of method man, redman, mobb deep) really cheesy.
