Got to say RESPECT to Mr Wells, great to see you on here.
So many classic tunes by yourself and your stable....

I absolutely love the TBN remix

Can you give us an insight into the tune...
can you remember much about the session
the synth riff at 0.52 what synth is that from.
OMG the pad at 2.34,love that! what synth is that from?

Were you/are you a fan of the Amen break, i cant recall too many tunes where u used it?

and the infamous eternity cd!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
must have played that at least 1000 times!!!!!
what was the story with that?

seriously have u considered writing a book on your musical life and the basement/record basement/vinyl distribution days, it would be a fascinating read!

For me Basement was a label which was straight up buy-on-sight business. I can't think of one release which isn't an absolute belter; Such a unique sound.

Great to see you on the board Mr Smooth. There are lots of people here including myself, who you have made very happy through your Basement/Sound Entity output, so I just wanna say thanks very much ;)

Can't remeber the synth riff, it's a long time ago. I've already listed my 'Basement kit list' earlier in this thread - (the Roland JX8-P is Jungle Techno's best kept secret). Pads were definatley a Korg Wavestation A/D, I can tell that just by listening. Only like to use Amen slow it sounds better that way... and how can you stand out using the same drums as another 100 or so tracks out at the same time??? Why did this happen? That's when I got out!

Funnily enough I listened to the Eternity mix last week and smiled to myself in the knowledge that not many could have put together such a diverse set, covering all active dance scenes at the time only with music they composed themselves - it was certainly an acheivment and I can't tell you how happy they were with it - they were great guys, no ego at all, just the way I like people to be.

Other than you guys, no ones that interested in my life. I'm wrongfully billed as an unsung hero but the truth is I never wanted any publicity or fame. This is why I never allowed photos - so I could remain anonymous and I managed it pretty well. Mix Mag are the only people who managed to persuade me to send a photo and beleive me they had to do a lot of asking - they contacted me and asked for an interview and then moved in to "no photo, no article" mode? I said "Fine no article", they quickly stepped of their high chair and used charm instead.

I will be in the studio again this year, got an amazing new setup, way, way beter than before! All in good time.

Sounds like a sample off the main riff in Prodigy - Android.

You need to be into all genres of dance music to appreciate it, which is why some people don't like it - fair enough - single minded twats... only joking!

I thinks it's here: http://www.dnb-sets.de/?set=129452

Great now you guys have got me handing out links to pirate downloads of my work!

I wouldn't rule that out, it wasn't uncommon for me to lift a single note and create new riffs.

Bringing in the records to lift; sounds, vocals and beats (for chopping) was about as much that most of the celebrated 'artists' actually did - that's all I'll say on the matter, don't probe I won't reveal who.

Every single hardcore producer, that's who Using samples itself doesn't make anyone any less of an artist if you ask me though ;)

Ahh.. should have known better You meant the actual producer of the record not getting the deserved credit.

Well... more that some celebrated 'artists' sit in the studio and do very little.

Didn't want the credit, credit doesn't pay bills, money does.
