Wanted to make this a poll but the poll settings won't work?
Please state which DAWs you use, in order of preference, with first = best.
2. Renoise (because l have so much Amiga tracker stuff)
3. OpenMPT (to translate the Amiga tracker stuff into a readable tracker format)
Audacity isn't a DAW.
Stopped using Ableton now.
Vowed never to touch Cubase because their earlier version, l think it was called Notator, was made only for the Atari, plus Atari had built in MIDI interfaces, so schools only bought Ataris for the music department - this killed the Amiga. Also Amiga was having a lot of infighting over copyright, but l still think Cubase was instrumental (no pun) in its downfall.
Mostly Ableton or Cubase. Pretty proficient in both.
Have been tinkering with Renoise, but finding it really confusing.
Would like to use it mainly for oldskool beat edits. Any useful tips, guides or Youtube vids either of you can recommend? Trying to work out how they used to do those awesome drum rolls (aphrodite 93/94 esq)
I started out on Octamed Amiga, then Cubase on PC (nightmare), then Propellerheads Reason 1.0, 2.5 (PC genius) then (mac) Reason 6.5, now on 8. Used Ableton sometimes and Acid pro in past.
FL Studio, have done since the first version. Ridiculously easy to use.
I did have a go with Reason for a while a few years ago but I just didn't get on with it. I can't really see any reason to use another DAW either to be honest. FL can do pretty much everything all the others can, at least everything I want it to do.
Yes, I believe you can!
Although I'm not sure how, there is a midi instrument/effect in the instrument, effect or utilities options.
You will require a decent audio device so you can record the audio back into reason though.
