Excuse my ignorance but what was the point of the competition? Will they be released on Vinyl, Cd or digital as an EP or something?

@ EleveneezerGoode

I'll probably stick with the format - it's been done this way for years.
Can't promise to do a couple per year - I'm very busy, so doing these is just something I do when I get time & also have some nice samples to share.

@ Coolbreeze

The main point of the compo is to see what people can make with some of the samples, have fun & get some nice new tunes out there.
Also helps us get some tunes for the label as well.
These will be digital releases as per everything on the label (All free - but mastered properly by Eddie V).

It's possible something may end up on vinyl, but we'll have to see...

At Ruffneck.

You can do - we do have a sub label now for other styles - Paranoid Excursions.

Blimey I feel bad for saying JMT's tracks were short now, how the hell did he get the time to do 4 of them to that standard in that short space of time!

Many thanks to all that voted, all that submitted a tune and all that voted for my one!

Tracks 4 and 5 were the only ones that i guessed correctly who made them lol! I thought JMT did track 1, puffa was 14, leon was 7 and i thought track 3 was by either pursuit or RG!

shows how much I know obviously :P

Haha...
I felt a bit silly putting four in!
I have not produced anything for possibly 3-4 years.
I don't even have my own computer anymore, these were made on my daughters laptop, and to top it off, the keys a-l only work when they want too.
I was bored one day and bought propeller heads new reason, and then checked to see what was happening on this site.
The length of the tracks was cut, as I don't think people want to listen to the intro-outro, they are of course needed for mixing.
Big up to all, as the tracks were the best set of tracks I've heard in these compos.

Really stoked to be in the top 5 . allways been a great forum for compo`s and feedback on tunes etc , good or bad , and trust me ive had plenty of bad feedback over the years lol . as i said somewhere else ive not really made any tunes for a couple of yrs and thought the compo was a great opportunity to get some inspiration back and spur me on to actually finish something !! Thanks to everyone who voted for my tracks and thanks to gaffer and RG for makin up the compos and releasing the tunes , giving up an comin artists something to aspire to.

@ JMT - Wish I had the time to knock 4 tracks up in that amount of time & decent ones at that!
Takes me about a year to finish stuff! lol

@ EleveneezerGoode -

Track names have been added above - where they exist - most were just labelled as "Compo track / entry".

I still think having a good variety of tracks in the 91-94 style is good. There was a lot of styles back then that were all mixed together : More housey / piano styles with big vocals, mental stab affairs, dark minimal & ragga jungle to mention a few. It's the variety of styles that keeps me listening, especially when certain types are all mixed together. Too much listening of one type could end up sounding a bit boring.
So, any future compos will feature a big batch of various types of sample like this one did so people have a nice choice of what to make.
Already got a load of interesting bits together in one type of style, but need to get a lot more before the next compo comes along.

We've also done compos remixing classic tunes (I might have sent you some links - can't remember) but as a lot more of these artists are coming back, don't want to annoy anyone, so from now on it'll strictly be original tunes - although not to say some classic samples won't be added to the packs :)
