Tune of the month

Coolbreeze replied to the topic 'Ride on time remix on BBC decorative program?' in the forum. 2 days ago

Think the tune was played on Homes under the hammer BBC, it wasn't that version, it had more trancey dance stabs to it that sounded almost 90s but new. There is several remixes and mostly shite yes.

Dunno if you saw that decorative program on BBC or whatever channel it was on, it had a nice dance trancey remix of black box - ride on time, sounded very good remix, any of you know who and what the name of remix is?

They say Musicians/artists want more of everything, so they gave us more, but isn't that just making things too nerdy and more to play with, shouldn't they try something like humanising the technology rather than adding more techy stuff? They actually say less is more. As reason can be fiddly and needs to be more user friendly or something? I seem to think the more techy things have gotten the less creative things have gotten. That's why a lot of recent music is suffering I think.

What you reckon to this?

That's not a bad idea, I think they are already doing that with AI music, if you search for it and you can pay over internet for music made by just the computer. Lol. Good for movie producers or advertisers that want royalty free music for quick.

Check this groovebox for ios, seems that tablet technology is catching up with desktops or laptops, is this the future of music production?

For me getting the first buzz rush in my life was an ultimate life changing experience, it was like there was no good music to hearing excellent music for the first time in late 1991, I was in my brothers old escort car travelling somewhere and heard this :- m.youtube.com/watch?v=iK77c3Ilo3I psi division mindf**k 2000 elasticman mix. I'm sure a lot of people had this experience and had an ultimate rush or excitement or electro orgasm or whatever. But do you still get that feeling when hearing good music? John peel used to say this when he first heard rock n roll 'there was nothing then there was something '. I was 13 and never taken drugs. Was it like a first shot of heroin or something?

What was the first tune that gave you that experience and got you into rave music? I

I've listened to about a hundred nu rave tracks on Soundcloud in the last month, but rarely get a buzz-rush now. Do I grow out of it or something? They are never as good as good old tunes? Or no longer a novelty?

Also what drugs like ecstasy do? Do they enhance that feeling or enhance the sound or what? What about ketamine and amphetamines or other club drugs?

How else can I experience this? Winning the lottery?

What you reckon?

I remember when I was at high school some girl brought a tape in on music class, had a tune on it called Henrys Cat Techno remix or something like that, it was made by her older boyfriend who had all the gear to make music, wasn't bad but doubt he made any success out of it! This was in 1991 I think then a few months later Charly by the prodigy came out hmm a lot of children's toytown rave about!

I thought floppies were fun, it kept me fit biking to my friends house sharing files, games and info, it got me out the house more, now most people download everything off internet being so lazy now. I didn't have internet in 91 even though it just started and didn't really hear about it until 1996 or 97. I remember bulliten boards and 56k dail up modems by 1995 I think. Bloody memories hey!
