Just finished the chapter on disco in Last Night a DJ Saved My Life, proper eye opener. And to think we all thought that we were the first generation to dance in clubs until dawn off our tits listening to twin-deck mixing.

I Feel Love has got to be the first proper dance tune surely? Sounds like a trance riff. Respect is due.

Like all these things, difficult to call really. There were certainly synthesized disco tracks out earlier but yeah it's one of the most influential!

I love this track from the same producer, a little later though (1979):
