HTC One S or Sony Xperiea S

Post by Matt Clarke » Sun Apr 15, 2012 7:55 am

Can't make up my mind. My Desire is now out of contract, so it's time to replace. I've always quite liked the HTC Sense overlay but the Xperiea is meant to have a really nice screen. Sony seem to be working hard to get updates to software out but it does look like a great big block of black plastic and it's still currently only running Gingerbread where the One S is ICS.

Anyone got either of them? Might just wait to see what Samsung are going to do with the SIII

X looks nice, but it is HUGE and the battery performance is meant to be a bit poo because of that quadcore and screen.

I personally think they're both too big. Which seems to be a worrying trend at the minute for some high-end phones.

But, I had the Sony in work for a week and while it looks flash, it's very uncomfortable; the sharp corners dig in the palm of your hand when you're using the screen. (nice screen, mind) It's a bit of a brick.
Looks like it'll get damaged easily too.

I'd go for the HTC.

I've just got a galaxy nexus, it's pretty good and the battery lasts a couple of days which is a bit of a bonus!

If i had to choose id go for the HTC One x it has everything going for it EXCEPT no micro sd port which is a big no no you need something like a micro sd facilty, and HTC Sense might look good but is a serious resource hog and battery drainer, already on XDA people are complaining about poor battery life on the One X, asides from that it looks amazing.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 is due to be unveiled next month, unless something pretty remarkable comes out that can better that i don't think id be going for anything else.

ps - ill be selling my SGSII when the Galaxy S3 is released, it's in pristine condition as good as new with accessories worth over £60 if anyone might be interested.

Don't the HTC One X have a non-removable battery Jonny ?

That's shit, especially if you say the phone has poor battery life.

Still got my 28-month old HTC HD2 here.

Currently running Android Gingerbread and the battery is still lasting me a full day. ;)

If the Xperia S is like my Xperia Mini Pro the screen is great and the loud speaker is shet hot, good bass and high volume.

Though I know mates who have HTCs and are happy with them.

Sent from my Sony Ericsson Mini Pro

S3 looks ok, at least it's got a bigger battery that's removable also a microSD slot.
