New Year's Resolutions 2012

Post by Double Drop » Wed Dec 21, 2011 10:37 pm

Not long now; what's yours?

Mine are:

Try and save some money.
Stop getting fixated on, and buying, stuff I can live without.
Lose some weight (creeping back up to 15st and I don't like it).

A mate of mine is trying to sign me up to a half marathon in June and I'd love to do it but at the moment I have trouble running a bath - amazing to be able to do that but it's real doubtful.

I've just hit 30 so have decided it's time to stop pissing all my money up the wall! So my main resolution is to start saving a decent chunk of my salary each month for a house deposit. Other than that, maybe join a gym. I hate being thin with a beer belly!

yeah, they're a silly idea.

That said, I'm gonna try to drink a bit less (perhaps) and read more Christopher Hitchens.

After the year ive had ive loads but whether or not they become reality is another thing, anyway i suppose the main one is to put the head down and work hard and hope i get made permanent as this looks like a really good company to work for, only there a short while and already got €30 gift voucher, box of choccys and a slap up xmas meal and a possible €200 bonus next month, with so many out of work anyone who has a job should hold onto it.

Gonna get my lad to Dublin to see my old dear more often too as he has only been over 3 times this year.

im 110% going on a holiday in 2012 as i didn't this year, may well be the Euro Championships in Poland, also going to the Dam in Feb after a 12 year absence.

LAST but not least, im planning on totally retiring from the Rave scene after the Retro Trax festival, im 41 next month and even though i rarely go out thesedays i just feel the time will be right then, obviously ill still look in on here and goes without saying the love for the scene will remain with me forever.

sorry for rambling, here;s to 2012 :)

My goals and aims for 2012 are.....

* Carry on with the weight loss. I have already lost 32lbs in the last 6 months since having our baby and would like to lose another stone or two.

* Learn a new skill or do some kind of course or qualification. Have a few ideas on things I'd like to do so its a case of sourcing a course I can attend.

* Make more of my photography and try harder with that.

* Possibly learn to engineer tunes. Always been interested in it ever since I went into the studio a couple of years ago to produce my own tune but never taken the time to learn how to make them myself.

To sort out my finances:

* Make sure I'm getting electricity and gas for a good rate
* Change mortgage
* Check ISA
