Re: Iphone App recommendations
With Backgrounder, iPhone's had full multitasking in all apps since 2008. I've used it since day 1 and it works perfectly, use it to run Spotify/pirate radio streams in the background. A crying shame Windows Phone 7 doesn't support multitasking, isn't it DD...Double Drop wrote:Better late than never.tdo wrote:Yes, it's called iPhone OS4Double Drop wrote:An app that lets the phone multitask?
As for jailbreaking, if your phone's a 3G or early 3GS running firmware 3.1.2 or earlier then use the Dev Team's tools: redsn0w on Windows or PwnageTool on OSX.
If you've got a newer 3GS with the updated bootrom and/or running firmware 3.1.3, use the Spirit jailbreak released the other day.

I did the jail break this morning and it seems to have worked, is there any app that will let me download any type of file, for eaxmple if I want to download wavs or mp3's from the likes of rapidshare ect? I quite like the fact that I can now Bluetooth music to people..

Of course, I think I mentioned it in my post on the previous page: Safari Download Plugin from Cydia. Adds a Save File To: option when clicking on links to downloadable filetypes, supports downloading from anywhere including all the upload sites.audiohazard wrote:I did the jail break this morning and it seems to have worked, is there any app that will let me download any type of file, for eaxmple if I want to download wavs or mp3's from the likes of rapidshare ect? Another handy one is Attachment Saver which lets you save/view any email attachment.
Use the above two in conjunction with iFile, which gives you full control over the entire filesystem as well as a fuckload of other features I've come to depend on like opening/making ZIP and RAR archives, emailing any file as an attachment, integrating with iBlueNova to send any file via bluetooth, editing any text file, downloading/uploading any file to/from a computer via WiFi etc... http://iphone.heinelt.eu/?Applications:iFile
All the above are paid apps (about a couple of quid each), if you're a monumental cheapskate or want to try before you buy then add the following sources to Cydia and grab cracked versions for free: http://www.sinfuliphonerepo.com and http://cydia.xsellize.com
And if you want to "try" an Apple App Store app before you "buy", grab install0us from Cydia, set http://apptrackr.org as the homepage and iTunes Sync to On. phR33 w4R3Z 4 j00!!!11 :gay:
