more details here..

As long as I get to play Epyx Summer Games again without using a cassette:

Re: Commodore 64 remade for 2010 (seriously!)
It's a Slimline PC by Commodore
Please explain what this has to do with the 1982 [64-kilobytes] model
by the same company ?
I'll take a guess at fuck all!
Commodore went bankrupt and sold there remaining assets
to another American firm in the mid 90's
so the company and reputation would never be the same anyways.

i thought commodore just made ugly as fuck gamer boxes these days?!?
pc world near me has loads of them and they all look hideous.
this looks like a load of crap also imo. it's not a c64 and never will be.
i still have my c64 and amiga in the loft as it happens :)

I really like the fact it looks similar to an Amiga, with everything in the keyboard 8)
The website is horrendous though, nobody will take that seriously.

Big shame - I was hoping it was going to be an Uber-Amiga :(

Re: Commodore 64 remade for 2010 (seriously!)
Yeah, but imagine an Amiga built on current technology - it was cutting edge BITDCMcDougall wrote:why? got emulators for it on PC anyways

WANT ONE
If its cheaper than a MAC I will deffo consider buying one as next PC instead of a tower.

Re: Commodore 64 remade for 2010 (seriously!)
this is stupid
original c64 had unique keys like the commodore key , this looks just like a standard keyboard.
i can't even see any commodore branding for gods sake.
another gimmick.

haha, so basically, all these computer companies are thinking "how can we copy Apple, without actually copying and getting sued?The_Ruffneck wrote:http://www.cybernetman.com/en/products/ ... tprint-pc/

Re: Commodore 64 remade for 2010 (seriously!)
The days of new, custom computing platforms are long over. Developing cutting edge hardware is astronomically complex and expensive nowadays, even mobile phones use off-the shelf designs from massive companies like Qualcomm, Texas Instruments etc.fmrl wrote:Yeah, but imagine an Amiga built on current technology - it was cutting edge BITD
Besides, Amiga OS has lived on in one form or another: http://arstechnica.com/software/news/20 ... 1-ars.ars/ and MorphOS which has just been ported to the Mac Mini: http://www.morphos-team.net/releasenotes-2.0.html
Not quite cutting edge, but usable.
It's all a load of bollocks though, Commodore died years ago and no amount of rebadging cataclysmically ugly Taiwanese cash registers will bring back the "C64 magic".
