Seems like a nice bit of media-induced over-reaction to me.
From the BBC website...

"Russia, China and Thailand have banned imports of raw pork and pork products from Mexico and parts of the US. But Dr Fukuda said that there was no evidence to link exposure to pork with infection."

It's another world government conspiracy, with Gordon Brown doing the honours to the pig to get the flu moving, nothing like a pandemic to reduce populations and make governments look like heroes. Not sure I can give up pork, love a sausage I do
