Perhaps start a thread for people to suggest tunes for the next remix?
Could be a bad idea - I bet they'll be over 10 different ideas

Need ones where the main samples are available, otherwise it won't work.
Think maybe a sci-fi / horror film sample fest compo maybe in order. There's always good samples in films that can be ripped. Plus it gives a good opportunity for some tracks to actually get put out there properly on releases if they're good enough.

That's true, yeah.
Like the idea of writing a tune using a film as the theme though 8)

I've already got several film samples, so once I've got a load more, we'll see

Plus it means more original tracks being made rather than remixes of other stuff.

Yeah anything u have would be good - just PM it over & once we have a nice big batch of stuff, then away we go :)
As long as the samples are of decent enough quality.
I have downloaded a few sci-fi samples in batches off the web, but most were really poor :(

Sounds like a plan. A sample pack similar to those Lost In Space samples I uploaded some time back would be more than enough to get the creative juices flowing. :)

Unfortunately pretty poor recording or mp3 encoding which destroys the overall impression. The "hurt you so" break sounded like a 32kbps mp3 :( Shame!. I demand an explanation from the producer after voting why the recording sounded that bad.
I recorded the whole thing onto cassette tape thinking it would do me a favour adding grit and old vibes, I know as I played it back it sounded shit but I couldn't be arsed to redo it again (a bit silly of me yet). I just hope I saved everything to disk so I can get it all up again. - will have another go minus the tape thing haha!
I thought it was the sound of the break that made it myself, proper nasty!

It's been an idea for a while really (since sampling Bladerunner for my
Fear tune last year), but remembered again when I was finding a sample for my remix of Interfaces Godzilla tune & the remake of this (sample at the start from Hellraiser II) :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KbPeSiGyeE4
Which film did u sample by the way?? I'm more a sci-fi buff than horror.
Gonna try to compile a batch of samples which I've ripped but never used over the years & if people have anything that could be useful as well, send them over - once we've got a big batch, we can begin :)
Maybe we could compile a freebie EP download of the best ones to get a bit more interest back in the tunes.

that fears a tune!!
The clue to the films in the title .. silent hill

lol getting totally re done over the next week or 2 as not happy with it starting to get the hang of fl 9 now thanks to youtube :D making wave's was good for getting me started but seems to lack the creativity of fl and not all vsts ect work properly with it ..i used dvd ripper( think thats what its called) to take the sample's from the dvd apart from the piano at the start which was taken from the soundtrack to the film..

Ahh haa - yeah that dvd ripper is a great program - for dvds with full DD, track 3 seems to be the one for the voices. Great for getting pretty clean samples.

We've already had a HC compo.
Others we've also had:
Acen, Tango, We Are IE, Hit The Decks, Edge1, Yolk, Predator, Charly & another I remember was where Fav was the only entrant (some hiphop samples I think that one was).
