The best vocalist our scene ever had. Heartbreaking, rest in peace Diane.

I was just listening to the peshay remix of inner city life last night. I didn't realise she was unwell. She had an amazing voice. RIP.

Sad news a very talented vocalist.

Inner city life remains my favourite Jungle tune of all time, it was groundbreaking and i remember seeing Goldie/Metalheadz live in the Point Depot in Dublin in 95 and Diane would have been on the vocals for inner city life, it was a Sunday and only about 500 people there, i think most people just choose to go to Orbital and Carl COX on the Friday coupled with the fact that Jungle was never massive in Dublin but i was on one all weekend and what a weekend it was.

RIP

Listened to the Angel EP on Synthetic last night, it's quite staggering how ahead of its time the Headz sound was in 1993, there's nothing else like it

Absolutely, this and the Internal Affairs EP really pushed the boat out. RIP to an awesome vocalist. Very sad indeed.

Hi,

Surely the best one is Kemistry on the METAL HEADS EP?

First and foremost sad news about a very talented lady.

No big fan of drum&bass but even I own the Metalheadz first album. No big fan of Goldie either for that matter, but that album is fantastic as is the vocalist. Well ahead of its' time...

.. but I have never heard that tune before Edd and reminds me of the nu skool breakz sound of the likes of Sons of Mecha that came about 6-7 years later. Like u say, well ahead of its' time as I thought the Metalheadz 1st album was too.

Seems bit out of context talking about such things in light of the thread... RIP - but what JOY her life brought to many  shining light.x

Yeap! Period! I have always said this. That track still stands the test of time, so much better than the album/remix versions.

Not at all, what better way to pay tribute than celebrate her music which touched our lives. :)

Kemistry is such a beautiful track and doubly poignant now. Inner City Life sounds as fresh and fitting today as it did 20 years ago, a magical record.

Yeah the 'coming down' outro of Kemistry is easily one of my favourite parts of any hardcore track. I could listen to it on repeat!

Greatest tune in dance music post '89, IMO. Timeless!
