Hi,

Nice to see this album is actually really good! The first didn't excite me, but all the Street Beat best releases on vinyl...

60 for 3 records is kinda steep, even if it does come with slipmats! I'll prob still buy one though.

Bought some Basement mats from Phil, would highly recommend them they're great quality.

I don't think £10 per tune is entirely unreasonable for tracks this sought after (for those that don't know these are all £50-100 records) and unlike the forum releases these 'proper' albums can't be done on such tight (or should I say zero) margins otherwise they simply won't bother!

Yeah it's cheaper than the alternative! Wonder if they're from DAT or vinyl rip, I'm guessing the latter.

Hi,

May seem expensive, but for most people, this is the only way you'll ever get these tracks on vinyl, and this is the first time I've seen sought after tracks from this 'golden' era actually receive a repress.

I'd be mortified if these are vinyl rip pressings, I would certainly want a refund, and most other buyers would too...

All the Basement represses were (to my knowledge). They were pretty decent quality though.

Some of the previous Basement represses were unplayable, so I would be extremely cautious about these. Vinyl rips that someone has had a go at "cleaning" digitally, with the end result sounding like a 64kbps mp3 file - no thanks!

I agree Mike, though saying that the digital cleanup that was done by a forum member on a certain dubplate before its remake a couple of years ago was top notch!

In my opinion, if you took a mint record and used a quality cart and pre amp it I would think you could potentially do a vinyl rip that sounds every bit as good as the DAT. The problem is that people seem to rip them with the first thing they have to hand, mostly a well played copy on a DJ setup.

Hi,

Here's hoping this is mastered from DAT not vinyl.

May be Ron will know?

I'd be very surprised if this was vinyl rips, I know the DATs were lost for most old Basement stuff but this was nothing to do with Basement.

Well I won't be paying 60£ for vinyl rips
I'd pay 50£ for the set if they were from dats , which is is more than enuff imo ,

Hi,

I know someone who had the TP of the first album, he said it sounded fine. But all those tracks were unreleased so had to be DAT.

I wish they had done this set as ten inch, like the original vinyl...
