...but when you listen to them now, you think differently....
Either form a production point of view or just the tune itself.......

For me it has to be Tic Tac Toe - Ephemerol
It just stood out from anything else at the time, those metallic synth sounds those spacey strings with the chimes and the incredible amount of bass running through the track.
To me in '92 it just sounded like the future! production wise i suppose you could pick it to pieces now, but back then this just blew me away.

Still love both of them too. Was listening to some sets on the way up to London yesterday and started buzzing when Edge 1 dropped on the Kenny Ken set I was listening too, the crowd were going bezerk.
I do play it quite sparingly these days though.

Hi,
I think any 'anthem' is likely to answer this post. Hard to dislike a track from BITD for its poor 8-bit Amiga production, as for most of us, that is what made the tracks so appealing.
Sure, we can all swoon over Rupert Parkes chopped Amen's, but we still love those Belgium beats from '91, and the out-of-synch bedroom stuff...
Another thing that may make us picks tracks to answer this post, is if a track uses one strong section over, and over, like Champion Sound...

Vintage Acid / Bleep, a seminal classic, probably the best Rave tune of all time IMO..I still get goosebumps listening to it
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dYZiTQoSF9A
Seductive Balearic house from 1988 like you would hear in KU in Ibiza at 5am in 88.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ltMTwRPPJSs
A Rave / Hardcore classic, guaranteed to rip the place apart
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xhrlIvpeW0o
The greatest Trance tune of all time IMO from one of the great labels Bonzai, completely and utterly mullered dancing to this BITD.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3IhMZPpHfZY
Vintage Techno, i remember Carl Cox dropped this in the Ormond in Dublin in 95 and the place erupted like a volcano.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ub4AzeZAiQA
FSOL are one of the greatest acts of all time, years and years ahead of their time, i still listen to the masterpience that is Lifeforms regularly, only the ORB run them close when it comes to Ambient..one for the chill out room at 4am with mental trippy visuals.

When Jungle first came onto the scene i hated the scene as it was the opposite to the PLUR scene of the early 90's, but some of the music was excellent, hardstep / jump up was initially what i liked until i heard this masterpiece tune, one of the greatest Jungle tunes ever.

Massive massive big room House tune from 95, an Ibiza classic

Re: Tracks that blew you away..
Most people seem to have misunderstood the original question :)
I'm struggling to think of any old skool track that really blew me away when I first heard it that I don't still enjoy. For me I think it's a lot of techno in the late 90s - I got hugely into techno at this time and what I was hearing was incredible. If I listen to it now though a lot of it sounds pretty dated and dull.

Higher sense cold fresh air remix
Sounded so ahead of its time but now not so much, same for similar early experimental jungle tunes.

Seduction - Can you feel it. Loved it when it came out, can't play it anymore as it's just too cheesy and happy hardcore sounding.
Re: Tracks that blew you away..
Doc Scott - Drummz - this track was compltely different bitd but now i really don't like it ....
