Pirate radio
Pirate radio
Always Always makes me smile
having been involved in running one in the 90`s
and even from a young age listening and recording them
moving a few boxes about tonight
out of 1500 tapes pulled 2 and gave them a listen
to my delight found swiftly fiaz and rythmaster on
dreem fm having jokes , proper funny sunday night bizniss
don fm my personal favourite , dont know the dj but
"hot like butter sweet like sugar be don or be gone "
"ten fifty severn"
rather have a pirate radio collection
than a record collection
much more fun !

Re: Pirate radio
Aye - Internet Radio is all good - often with better tune selection and better quality, but it's just not the same vibe! - Still love the fact you can get in the car on the weekend and flick around and find some hardcore somewhere on the dial usually - :D Relentless :D
Re: Pirate radio
Oh yes - big up the pirates .....
Re: Pirate radio
yeah mate. All about the pirates. Was kanin one out on site today, found a bit of hardcore an was lovin 'just for you london' absolute pirate anthem! Was gettin a few funny looks from the poles an the old boys though.
Had to change back to capital's 24/7 britany spears fest when it changed to wobbly drum and bass though cos they weren't havin it. Was fun for a bit though.

Re: Pirate radio
Pirate radio is crazy !
I only played on one three times but i really enjoyed myself !
Getting on a reefa , having a can , somebody getting the munch in .... lav it !
I went to do some scratching the once and must of knocked a switch & turn it all off .... thought we were getting raided ! hahaha
Got all my tunes together at light speed & was ready to bolt and then realised what had happened , got my tunes out & carried on ! lol
Always been a fan of the pirates & in my time have had MANY tapes from the local's !
There was one that was really really infamous around here called 'mix fm' , it used to play club classics & speed garage (think 'sagat - luvstuff' & 'ruff driverz - deeper love') , that was THE station between 98 & 00 , i had LOTS of tapes from that station , saturdays 5-7 & 7-9 i was ALWAYS locked with my maxell 90's ready ! hahaha
Great times !
The pirates around here now are dreadful so i tend to give them a miss BUT i'll always have a soft spot for them !
Wouldnt mind having a bash at internet radio & to be honest i think i'd prefer it due to less hassle ... but then again thats part of the buzz of playing on a pirate !

Re: Pirate radio
If it wasn't for pirate radio I would never have gotten into hardcore.
There was only one station up here as far as I know and without it there would have only been cheesey house and bouncy techno to listen to.
