if there was a timeline between 1991 & 2001 and it had to represent key people in the hardcore / jungle / dnb scene especially involved with the whole london pirate radio scene who would be on it...

Is this the same Prism who was on Don as well as Pressure FM in 93-95? If so I still see him about at squat parties, meant to be doing a show with him on UK's Finest at some point...Champion Puffa wrote: mc prism

91-93 (poss early 94) you had Touchdown 94.1 in NW London with people like Tony J, Decktition, Steve "Nut Nut" Munster, Kenny K, Deckjammer, Kevski, Pieman, DJ Trace, Mixmaster Max, R-Type etc.
Dream 107.6 FM which went from 94 to 97 (or early 98) Spinback who ran the station and events is still about so he can be contacted easily. They are supposed to be coming back soon.

Re: to them what know there stuff about the scene....
My memory might not be serving me the best but I used to listen to Defection a good bit in '92/93 and I thought that was where Mixmaster Max used to play. The big three back then for me was Weekend Rush, Defection & Pulse.Adam Timeless wrote:91-93 (poss early 94) you had Touchdown 94.1 in NW London with people like Tony J, Decktition, Steve "Nut Nut" Munster, Kenny K, Deckjammer, Kevski, Pieman, DJ Trace, Mixmaster Max, R-Type etc.
EDIT; here's a cool article I found that should shed some light:

I was surprised to see that Defection started in '93, maybe my confusion is that Mixmaster Max played on Weekend Rush beforehand as I'm sure I recall him playing stuff like 3rd Party #2 & Foul Play Vol. 1 etc..

There were so many good stations on back then but i cant remember all the djs names just the stations and they must be easily found on the web somewhere
i think it was more of a local thing as well as in south london suburbs we had stations that other places didnt and vice versa
stations like freedom fm and storm fm
kool fm defo takes it for 94 tho i reckon
don fm and boss fm for 93
dream fm for 95
tochdown for 92
fantasy for 91

He played on Touchdown in 92/93 and also on Defection and Rush as well Funktion Fm and a whole load of other stations including a legal one. I can ask him next time I see him. Don't know when Defection started, but it was around in 92.Fizza wrote:My memory might not be serving me the best but I used to listen to Defection a good bit in '92/93 and I thought that was where Mixmaster Max used to play. Thinking about it, didn't DJ outlaw have a site which was all about pirates past and present? - Y2k pirates or something - think it's dead now but could try on archive.org?
Re: to them what know there stuff about the scene....
Yeah, my memory is telling me that Defection started around June/July '92, thanks for clearing that up, looks like he got around a bit then, it's cool that you know him, what's he up to these days?Adam Timeless wrote:He played on Touchdown in 92/93 and also on Defection and Rush as well Funktion Fm and a whole load of other stations including a legal one. Don't forget Kiss before it went legal (ie. shite).
Colins Dale and Favor rocked it in '91.
