Re: is this misspress any good - does it exist?

I added that mispress and am the only person to have it listed on discogs... sounds like housey hardcore if I remember right, definitely more house than the first EP which I probably like more.

Re: bouncy techno /breakbeat hardcore

Also I wonder if the lack of reggae / carribean culture in most of the us could explain why the 91, 92 and 93 hardcore made here mostly sounds like hardcore techno/rave as opposed to, say, early Ibiza records stuff. A lot of it is fun, some is even damn good, but most of it tends towards the ravey e...

Re: bouncy techno /breakbeat hardcore

There's a fun recounting of this in DJ Kid's interview on the Uncle Dugs show. Big respect to Kid for pushing stuff which wasn't the popular/obvious thing, if more people did this instead of waiting for something to reach critical mass and just +1'ing it, music would be a more interesting and divers...

Re: Omni Trio - new interview and pics

+1000 there should be a rule that dnb producers aren't allowed to only or even primarily listen to dnb. Asf or other producers working on experimental stuff, I think T-Power does now? I think that producers only looking within a small frame of reference for inspiration is one of the main reasons why...

Re: Thoughts plz people...

Yeah a big sparse oldschool breaky remix coulda been a treat, but I guess trance n bass hospital dnb is the order of the day ](*,) I like the fact that it will probably bring the use of proper breakbeats back into the scene - something I am noticing a lot more at the moment. Think they could have pl...

Re: Thoughts plz people...

I don't claim to understand Prodigy's last few albums or listen to them with any regularity but I'm willing to suspend disbelief and assume there's some sort of audience, and that I just don't understand/fully appreciate what they're going for. From a strictly "oldskool rave above all else" standpoi...

Re: Thoughts plz people...

Kinda sounds like a hardcore breaks remix of "terrorist"? Nothing offensive for average listener, I can see the appeal for people who aer not me I guess. Could do OK with a massive budget video as Fresh normally does. I dunno, thought he was onto more new trendy stuff?

Think I heard you play some of these at the BF Pool Party? Not sure, I was kind of busy smashing an inflatable alligator with an inflatable mallet / trying to keep all beach balls in the air at all times.

Re: dj hype weird energy

agreed, one of my favorite tracks of 93 easily. Hype just killed it in 93, all those sub base tracks had such amazing and interesting breakwork (back before everything was just think or amen), fun & deep weird melodies and components without being overly dark and cheesy. I wish there was more simila...

Re: dj hype weird energy

Makes sense if it's an original by him... maybe the entry on discogs should be updated then, esp if someone wants to hit up flex or hype.

Another thing I remembered is that the beats in it sound just like the ones in "dreams", not sure if that's more proof it's by hype.

Betting JJ or Phil will know this based not only on tune knowledge but from having probably heard a set with it.
