Re: Iphone 4....
Had a chance to use an HD2 extensively the other week, thought it was awful. The screen's brilliant, but the device is absolutely massive because of it, perfect for a PDA that you keep in a bag but I couldn't deal with it dangling in my trouser pocket all day (cue the "it's a real phone for real men...

Anyone know anything about LDV Convoy vans?
As per subject... need some info on an LDV Convoy I'm looking to buy and the usual van forums are a bit quiet.
Need to know how to remove a physical (not electronic/ECU-based) speed limiter/governor from one with a Transit banana-top engine.
Bentley?

Re: Projectors??
http://www.tvcatchup.com Free, great picture quality and it's legal. It's a great service, but it's far from high quality right now (still waiting for the HD streams), especially if viewed on a large screen. Looks horrific and basically unwatchable on a projector. Terrible for sports as well as it'...

Does it support recording and audio copy & paste for importing what you've made into other apps like Beat Maker/Audioview?

Re: iphone or blackberry ?
Must agree here. iPhone is a great media device but I find the virtual keys a bit tiresome for heavy email use. I was of the same opinion before I got my hands on one, now I find myself typing at a fair whack on the on-screen keyboard, far faster than I can on any phone-sized device with physical k...

Re: Vinyl Rippage - want to get it right!
If you aren't getting rid of the vinyl and won't be cutting dubplates or using the rips as masters for represses or anything then it's not that big a deal. But if you're looking to replace your vinyl with these rips then you'll most likely regret using something as shoddy as an Ion USB deck at some ...

Re: Vinyl Rippage - want to get it right!
Don't bother with USB turntables if you already have a sound card with fairly decent converters. They'll always be built to a budget using cheap components. Just get a good quality phono preamp and run a normal analogue turntable through it, then feed the line-level signal to the inputs on your M-Au...

Re: Iphone App recommendations
An app that lets the phone multitask? Yes, it's called iPhone OS4 Better late than never. With Backgrounder, iPhone's had full multitasking in all apps since 2008. I've used it since day 1 and it works perfectly, use it to run Spotify/pirate radio streams in the background. A crying shame Windows P...

Angry Birds takes the piss, sucked down hours of my life and had me dashing the phone across the room on several occasions. Here's a few I find myself using on a daily basis: RadioBOX is the best radio streaming app around, comes with a wicked web-based config utility so you don't have to arse about...

Re: Commodore 64 remade for 2010 (seriously!)
Yeah, but imagine an Amiga built on current technology - it was cutting edge BITD The days of new, custom computing platforms are long over. Developing cutting edge hardware is astronomically complex and expensive nowadays, even mobile phones use off-the shelf designs from massive companies like Qu...

Re: Sony sucks
Why? Rendering farms, scientific simulations, many flavours of distributed computing, arsing about with console emulators on Linux, etc... This move is just a futile kneejerk reaction after a 19 year old cracked the thing and put it on a path to inevitable piracy. This is the same kid who's promised...
