Re: Do you still buy records from record shops?

There are a few record shops in SE London but I rarely get a chance to visit them. Bit of a shame really because there is nothing better than searching through piles of dusty tunes to find a surprise. where you talkin? i know theres on in camberwell i keep meaning to pop over to, im in SW myself an...

Re: Who made this?

I suppose it depends on the artists being sampled. Some hate it, some see money opportunities, some don't mind at all.

Re: Listening to oldskool in 2014 on?

The subs nothing special. Does the job for me, it's smallish and tucks away out of sight. I rarely get the chance to use my turntables these days due to having three small children, and I don't need humungous sound. One of these. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Series-Active-Subwoofer-Output-Black/dp/B003UT...

Re: Vestax out of business?

Vestax mixers are ok, my only complaint about them is the faders are noisy. My £150 Dj Tech DIF-1s is far better quality than any of the Vestax scratch mixers.

Re: Pennywise Remix Compo

I can't wait to hear these. Has anyone used the Beep Beep Richie sample? I'm tempted to have a bash, have loads of ideas. Easiest DAW to pick up and use? Abelton. Shitloads of instructional vids on Youtube and the Abelton site. The thing I like most about it is there is no set way of using it. ever...

Re: Why Hardcore Was Short-lived?

The times were different then. We lived under the Thatcher Govt and that's all we knew, a few were making shitloads of money in the City, while the majority were getting fucked over. Strikes, police corruption, deaths in custody, riots, football hooligans, the shadow of the cold war, violent unsettl...

Re: 20 years on - the differences..

The one thing the digital age has improved is music production. TV is shit, radio is shit, this new fangled 'internet' is mostly full of shit, mobile phones are annoying and shit. DAW software is incredible, but my MPC2000 is now a worthless box with buttons.
