Re: An answer i had from Jack Smooth..

Ron, What was going on inside your head when you made the tune 'Whats Goin On'? I still can't help sometimes having a little laugh to myself about when I think back to that little breakdown and then the vocal line that comes in... absolute quality! LOL too! Funny I listened to that one last w...

Re: An answer i had from Jack Smooth..

there is one Jack Smooth-style track that I heard Ratty play a few times that I'm sure was never released. I'm just intrigued to know who created it as the stabs and strings are just epic. In fact, I'd go as far as to say it's one of the best old skool hardcore / jungle techno tracks I've ever hear...

Re: An answer i had from Jack Smooth..

1. Do you have a list of tunes you produced & is that lost in time? 2. Do you have the real track names for 20 hurts (edit I see this has been asked already oops) 3. You have some DAT's left & would you release them digitally or allow some vinyl pressings 4. Do you have any unreleased tunes on DAT'...

Re: An answer i had from Jack Smooth..

Did you use live instruments on the purveyors of the new groove album? What did you make of 4 hero's two pages album on talkin loud, All music on Purveyors was played on synths (kit list already on this thread). You can get very close to live instrument sound if you play/program the sound correctly...

Re: An answer i had from Jack Smooth..

Would be interesting to know a bit more about mystic moods label and precious materials label, how did these come about, these are seriously underrated labels. how did you go from the basement sound to the jazzy/mellow mystic moods sound? Was it the influence of your co-producers or was this your e...

Yeh, had the PG800 and was a help, but the JX is still pretty easy to edit from the panel though.

Re: An answer i had from Jack Smooth..

Ron - are u anything to do with (production-wise) the Malice/Enzyme stuff on Nu Basement? Did you do any work with DJ Mayhem -> love his early releases on Basement. I don't remember either Malice or Enzyme so probably not (worked with too many people, I forget) Now, in terms of Mayhem, he was one o...

Re: An answer i had from Jack Smooth..

Fascinating thread! And speaking about other records that are hard to come by, I was wondering how come your Fast Floor LP - On A Quest For Intelligence had such a low print run. Seemed like this never got past the promo (test press?) phase, as even the individual records were white labels. Any sto...

Well... more that some celebrated 'artists' sit in the studio and do very little.

Didn't want the credit, credit doesn't pay bills, money does.

Every single hardcore producer, that's who :) Using samples itself doesn't make anyone any less of an artist if you ask me though ;)

Re: An answer i had from Jack Smooth..

the synth riff at 0.52 what synth is that from. Sounds like a sample off the main riff in Prodigy - Android. Good to see Mr Smooth on the forums, total respect! :) I wouldn't rule that out, it wasn't uncommon for me to lift a single note and create new riffs. Bringing in the records to lift; sounds...

Re: An answer i had from Jack Smooth..

You need to be into all genres of dance music to appreciate it, which is why some people don't like it - fair enough - single minded twats... only joking!

I thinks it's here: http://www.dnb-sets.de/?set=129452

Great now you guys have got me handing out links to pirate downloads of my work!
