Re: An answer i had from Jack Smooth..

Alright Chaps,

Tunes ripped from DATs uploaded to soundcloud today : http://soundcloud.com/ronwellsjs

I will keep ripping but it take a long time... Trawling through DATs is slow and tedious.

Re: An answer i had from Jack Smooth..

Someone's just posted this on YT : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BdlvAUEmbqI

Unfriendly is on it, possibly not released at the time.

I remember this but the last minute or two are certainly not me, no... NO!

I didn't play out much, I preferred studio time and I was in there all the time.

can't really get a more visceral sign you're on the right track really :D

Perhaps that's how the charts should be worked out!

Re: An answer i had from Jack Smooth..

that's really :doubt: about that Pipez tune...so blatant! and the Urban Hype thing. although with the latter, shitty as it was, could say it worked out well if you got the money but didn't have any dent in credibility or be associated with any anti-commercial feeling relating to the tune ;) on the ...

This track always makes me laugh - it's as heavy a elephant shit.

Hearing it on a 100k system is something else.

Re: An answer i had from Jack Smooth..

haha top of the pops i got a question which tune that you have made in the early years do you not like and why? also which tune you like so much still you would like to do a remix of now? Like everyone I've made plenty of crap, some slipped through and got released some luckily were deleted at the ...

Re: An answer i had from Jack Smooth..

Back to another geek question.. How did you end up working with Urban Hype? How did you feel about making Trumpton? I'd like to point out that i think that Trumption is a good hardcore tune, but just with novelty samples on top. Did you get any shit off the other artists you worked with cos of it? ...

Re: An answer i had from Jack Smooth..

The poor lad definatley suffers from delusions - look at this utter garbage on his own Facebook Biog: "Furney's debut release for a revitalised Good Looking was 'Drum Tools' in collaboration with MC Conrad which appeared on the other side of LTJ Bukem's first track in three years, 'Switch'. Next up ...

Re: An answer i had from Jack Smooth..

It's sad this - you'd have thought that Phil, upon hearing the tune, would mention something rather than just distributing it. Given your long association. As for the remix (if you can even call it that)..you'd have thought that Good Looking would have artists on their label would be capable of kno...

Re: An answer i had from Jack Smooth..

Just out interest Ron who actually does own the rights to basement/sound entity tunes? The reason for my interest is I wanted to put out an unreleased tune by Kev Bird as a future release on my label I've known him for 20 odd years now & he said it was ok to put it out BUT of course I'd rather not ...

Re: An answer i had from Jack Smooth..

Thanks for your support Jedi. It's much appreciated. As you can see Spencer T was not impressed by the feedback he received from Tobie at Nuurban Music - which was rather innapropriate to say the least. Me, I'll just happily sleep at night in the knowledge that all of the records I make are mine - y...

It's sounds like a rather lazy rip off to me, not really impressed.

Re: An answer i had from Jack Smooth..

All of the difficult stuf was usually done by Paul as he is a proper keyboard player, whilst I'm not a 'door bell pusher' (our phrase for totally inept 'players' - you know, the ones that put stickers on the keys and press once to trigger a sample) - it's quicker to hum what you are thinking and hav...

Re: An answer i had from Jack Smooth..

Thanks Ron, loving the bits on Soundcloud! Do you play the piano on all your tracks? Can't wait to hear the others you have. I guess you are busy with work, but do you think you would open your studio again to work on tracks or offer tuition? I'd be first in the queue! :) Paul Clarke plays the pian...
