Re: Jack Smooth Strikes Again!
Marvin had relased a tune on my Wax Foactory label so when I moved the studio into premesis (I found a building down the road that I thought would be good for Phil (Basement) to set up Vinyl Distribution in. The top floor was perfect for a studio so we agreed to move in together. There was room for ...

Re: Jack Smooth Strikes Again!
For starters he engineered Trip To Trumpton  I'm sure he had his hands in a lot more tunes, there's a few that deffo sound like him, ie Structural Damage - Really Livin (could have been a Basement tune as well by the sounds of it) or Psychoacoustic - I Kommence on Danse City. LOL... I just fou...

Re: An answer i had from Jack Smooth..
Yes. but I didn't have as much to do with Homegrown. I worked on some of those releases but that label was really Phil's 'happy journey'. I preferred (and still do) the deep/dark, technical side. :-) BEST : R so when you gonna make some 1992/1993 dark technical hardcore again - WE NEED U I certainl...

Re: Post your favourite jungle tekno tracks in here...
This, for me, was one of best Jungle Techno tunes:
I think it encapsulates 'The Sound'.

Re: Post your favourite jungle tekno tracks in here...
Re: S & A Vol 1 I remenber making this but I can't remember who with. The Tek bass is my favorite Roland JX8-P wonderful synth. Yeh, I suppose it qualifies but ideally the slightly darker side is a probably more applicable (as in this definitely isn't the BEST Jungle Techno tune of all time) :-) BES...

Re: Post your favourite jungle tekno tracks in here...
Agreed it's a hard genre to define, but pretty much anything by Jack Smooth almost certainly qualifies 8) Doesn't it have to have a 4-to-the-floor to be jungle tekno? a couple of the ones Elusive posted don't have that? I used to have freindly arguements with Steve (Dj Phantasy) all the time about ...

(We should continue our discussion on ltd editions at some point. I've been too busy to do anything but hopefully will have more time next year).

Re: Jack Smooth - No 303 Reloaded
I've just replaced the file with a tougher mix and fixed the strings and acid.
To me, this now thumps along just like the old days - hope you like it.

Re: Jack Smooth - No 303 Reloaded
My favourite Basement track - and possibly favourite old skool track - of all time. This is good, but it doesn't top the original for me. The acid isn't that dirty and the pads aren't quite as...rush-inducing :) Interesting to hear nonetheless. Yes on second listening I agree - it's a fair bit bit ...

Re: An answer i had from Jack Smooth..
What did you make of the Happy Hardcore that was around in 1994? Did you ever consider making that kind of music (Later Hedgehog Affair's seem to be classed as HH) instead of, or alongside your D'n'B stuff? Didn't really do a lot of happy stuff as most of those in that era had chipmonk vocals - or ...

Re: An answer i had from Jack Smooth..
Ron, I've got some Fabio id's from 1997 i've been trying to work out, and someone suggested one of them may be yours (id 6)... Would you mind taking a look and seeing if you recognise any of them? :) This is the link: http://subvertcentral.com/forum/showthread.php?57956-Last-remaining-Fabio-1997-id...

Re: An answer i had from Jack Smooth..
I'm not surprised people are still paying top dollar for your tunes, but this one I came across just now is perhaps just a little bit ambitious: http://www.discogs.com/buy/Vinyl/Jack-Smooth-Waveforms-EP/23438960?ev=bp_rel_det OMG... That's rediculous! I definately left about ten grands worth out fo...

Re: An answer i had from Jack Smooth..
Thanks Ron. Loved listening to them while surfing the Interweb! You are the String master, Love them... Are there any VST that re-create those String sounds like on your Fast Floor work? Can't wait to get my Music Gear back once its arrived from the UK to here in New Zealand. Thanks again. Dan Hi m...
