Re: Secret Raindance

I went, had a wicked night. Really nice to hear tunes from that era given a proper blast in the main room at an event. Good venue, atmos, tunes etc. Only downer was it could have been a bit busier (eg room 2 was mostly empty all night) but were enough there to get a good vibe going.

Re: Public Sector Jobsworths

1) The PM isn’t a civil servant, he's the head of the executive, an elected politician. Civil servants are unelected employees of the state, paid to impartially serve the government of the day. 2) His pay is kept artificially low for political reasons – there would be uproar if he was seen to be...

Re: Public Sector Jobsworths

I take your point, but I think the analogy is flawed. Firstly, civil servants aren't (despite what some people would have you believe!) lazy expensive cowboys. Secondly, there aren't hordes of cheap, skilled Polish civil servants beating down the door. And thirdly, in some areas (mostly but not excl...

Re: Public Sector Jobsworths

I completely agree that civil servants of all kinds provide a vital service that the rest of us in the private sector can't live without (but DO pay dearly for - a quarter of our wages.) However I don't agree that there's no alternative if you're not happy. There are people queueing up for low paid...

Re: Public Sector Jobsworths

As a more general question - if people are unhappy for their taxes to pay for things they don't feel they directly benefit from, even if it contributes to running essential state functions or making society work as we want it to, how far does the principle extend and who else should be condemned? Wh...

Re: Public Sector Jobsworths

This is a subject on which there are huge amounts of misinformation and dodgy rhetoric on both sides. There is a strong argument for reforming pension arrangements - we are all living longer, there is no money left and there are cuts being made across the board. Its not realistic to expect no change...

Haha exactly the same here! Elite was great but it was the only game worth playing on it - I was so jealous of my mates with C64s and Spectrums

Re: MW3 (Xbox360)

I've preordered this and BF3 from shopto.net
A bit sad but I'm quite excited about both!

Never used them before but they seem to have a good reputation, and I've ended up getting screwed on my preorders of the last two COD games so have put a bit more research into it this time

Re: Fantazia EP #5 possibilities

A PSI ep would be wicked, their stuff is quality and really underrated imo. But I do also really like that St.Ives track so certainly wouldn't say no if that got popped on there somewhere ;)

Re: Hardcore Breaks labels - where are they now...

When i say 'way forward' I mean as a way to run a label and release loads of music without bankrupting yourself and ending up with a garage full of wax you can't sell. nobody expects to make money from it these days! :-D The majority of dance music IS digital these days. The majority of DJs play CD...

Re: Battlefield 3

Soooo looking forward to BF3!! Used to play 1942 and BF2 on the PC many years ago, and Bad Company 2 on the XBox is my fave recent game. No doubt I'll end up getting COD too though, even if the last one was a bit shit.

Pretty sure its the Dj Rap Get Raw remix on this release, if I remember correctly:

Mush better than the original imo
