Re: What a great label

Proper hardcore. Mark Ryder was a don. Really knew what he was doing, GyR8 I think Ryder was one of the most interesting and clever artists of "our" scene, massive self promotion & spanned multi genres, keeping his sound, and generally being a badman, not to mention 2 radio stations, compilations et...

Re: energy

Cheers Aize,

Lots to think about, that might be one of the only tunes I haven't used a drum break sample on. Hence it sounding tight and quantized, I sort of wanted that, like a 909 or something but it's def to clinical.

I might go back and layer it up soon.

thanks!

Re: second generation breaks sources?

Get dusty. Finding 60's/70/80 stuff on vinyl is so easy and cheap. No excuse. edit, also aize your based in brighton right? You have 2 amazing vinyl shops. Finding odd compilations and beats/sounds is most of the fun. It's something that sample packs have really sucked the life out of https://www.yo...

Re: What do you do when you get stuck?

I try and make a rule that if it's not finished within 24hrs, it either IS finished or obsolete.

I have never gone back to a tune and made it sound better, but have finished a tune in 4hrs and been happy.

Thats not counting eq/mastering btw, just content/layout

energy

Have been getting back into noodling!

http://www.mediafire.com/listen/44qn4cb ... ssons2.mp3

Made this melancholy tune, I seem to be finding energy injection is difficult to put into a tune. Unless you just bang a 4beat or amen at 180bpm but thats boring. hmmmm advice please?

Great comp 16 = 5 Points 20 = 4 Points 06 = 3 Points 13 = 2 Points 22 = 1 Point Tune - 16 = 5 POINTS - Love the raw energy, few off key bits but sounds like this producer was loving it. Tune - 20 = 4 POINTS - Slick, Fucking pukka production. Props, reminds me of Don FM and AJ Flex Tune - 6 = 3 POINT...

Re: Confused about post production

I had accepted the fact I overclocked the bass proper hard, and since couldn't go back to fix it, that was it. I borrowed a pair of seinheisser 201's from work today just for lbc, and they have filled in the gaps and almost normailised the wav file. Having created the tune using flat response monito...
