Re: The state of DJ'ing nowadays...

But like I said, everyone has their own way of doing it with varying degrees of success, I'm sure nobody here would claim to be a perfect DJ but at least with vinyl there is skill involved however you do it. I never meant that I thought any way was wrong or right, was more about this! Vinyl has mor...

Re: The state of DJ'ing nowadays...

Don't post on here often but just wanted to get my opinion in as I feel the art of pitch riding is a dying art. I'm 21 and alot of the people I see DJing nowadays usually adjust the pitch to the right bpm on the CDJs (Technics are pretty much extinct at events I DJ at Uni) before they even press pla...

Re: Anybody thought about selling up and going digital?

What are the best DJ controllers that you can also use as mixers with turntables? Serato Scratch live I think? You use your normal turntables/mixer but have an extra box to plug in and you mix normally with special vinyl that emulates the real thing. Never tried it but seems to be far and away the ...

In case anyone didn't know, DJ Ham switched sides a few years ago from Hardcore to D&B and now produces for Ram under the name Hamilton.

Re: Modern Day Music and DJs

The recenty Footwork/Juke stuff coming out has made me totally rethink that all new music is stagnant. E.g DJ Rashad, the whole Teklife crew, or even the more jungly influenced stuff on Exit. Footwork seems to have helped move D&B forward a bit.

Re: Yikes...

Didn't he used to be an up and coming D'n'B dj a few years back? Yeah he was, got pretty big actually. Not gonna lie I did enjoy the tracks he made. I have a mix CD from him from about 08/09 from ATM (Atmosphere) magazine. There was then some controversy over someone leaking his tracks and he went ...

Re: ** Youtube Channel Owners Important **

What a shame. From someone who is 19 now but got in to this music nearly 8 years ago through the Oldskool community and over the years the YouTube channels, this is a big mistake. Just the other day a friend of mine at Uni mentioned that he was schooled in early Hardcore etc through Mickeybeam's cha...

Re: Younger people into old skool

It's Timdnb now but I can't change my name obviously haha. I got in to Drum & Bass and The Prodigy Simultaneously, stumbled across a mix labeled 1992 D&B (obviously it was oldskool) I think by Greg J? And also found this website and the rave history archive, all in the space of a few months but my m...
