Me and me mate Howard from Wales arrived at the Drome at about 11.10pm to see Matt B and Tasnim in the guest list queue. Once they realised they needed to enter around the corner I'm sure they walked practically straight in while we spent the next 15 minutes queuing in the Guest list.
We made our way straight to the Old Skool Room via the Jungle one where Aphrodites "No Diggity" was being dropped. We were greeted to the sounds of a full on (probably +3 on the turntables) breakbeat hardcore from 1994 as we entered the old skool arena.
After having a wonder around the different rooms, we settled down in the second old skool room (Old Skool Flava) listening to a "anthems" set by the dj on at the time. At 1am the man like Maxx Vinyl stepped up and I started dancing having met up with Matt B and Steve on the dance floor and a tiny little bloke called Lee. Unfortunately half way through Maxx's set, the mixer had to be taken away due to one becoming duff in the main room.
We went back in the the main old skool room and proceeded to dance. The rest of it all kinda blurs from this point on :-) but highlights include dancing with the mad nutters from Wizzkik who did a live PA of their old skool 94 breakbeat (which was nice), The Ratpack whose set just seemed to fly by, Ellis Dee for sharing his Bacardi with me (YUUUKK, but it still took 4 goes until I realised this was not good to be drinking neat out of a bottle!), finding someone who can actually blow a whistle as fast as me !!!, and the whole atmosphere of the old skool room being so spot on.
