DJ Flashback started Dj'ing in 1990 whilst studying at Surrey Univerrity. He played at all of the University events and had his own show on Radio Surrey from 1990-1991. Soon after he became a regular on Greenapple pirate radio. He organised and played at raves whilst still at Uni, in 1991, booking PA's such as The Scientist, HHFD and K-Klass.
