What did Jason Kaye & Mikee B fall out about?
I wonder what forum Chris joined? Obviously not here as no file sharing.
Nice one, you're right! So we were only half ripped off
Mystery solved near the back of Mark Archers new book.
Butler is Altern8's MC, he's been with them since they started doing PAs. He didn't make the music though, that was Mark Archer and Chris Peat.
I have made the latest guest mix for the BCJ Facebook group. 93-95 jungle and hardcore. Here's the track listing:
Fast Floor - 7th Heaven
Mad Dog - Monged Out
Sound Of The Future - Future Funk (Remix)
Detox & The Mighty Atom - Waterworks! (Jedi Remix)
Natural Instinct – Nyabinghi
A One Sound – The Tip Off
Kid Twist - Champion Sound
Harmony & Xtreme - Temple Of Doom
The Bombsqaud - Freebase
Ironik - The Calling
DJ Phantasy - Atmosphere (Remix)
Ride C - Jungle Pressure
Funky Technicians - You Gotta Believe
Tom & Jerry - On & On
Splash - Babylon (DJ Trace Remix Part II)
Revert Project - Luminous
DJ Flame & Sub Terra - Extreme Caution
Already have the Groovin release, and not overly mad about the other tracks on this pack, although will support the cause for sure...............and top work.
Would love to have represses of these although understand there are licensing issues......hopefully these can be worked around though.
Fantastic work. will be on this as soon as it's up.
What an awesome tracklist. Nice to see a few unreleased tunes on there.
OK the tracklist is confirmed for JKF 05!
A1: Cru-L-T - Don't Be Afraid
A2: Alk-E-D - Burn Baby Burn (Unreleased mix)
B1: Luna C - Death Of A Psychopath (Nasenbluten Remix)
B2: A Thief, A Terrorist And A Lunatic - No Stopping
Track A1 is a 1994 jungle track that Chris sent to Moving shadow as a demo, but it was rejected. He believes nobody has ever heard it before and it's a cracking tune, so I'm really excited to have this on there. A2 is the version of "Burn Baby Burn" that was originall supposed to be the A side of Shining Bright, but only made it to test press stage. B1 was released on CD a while back but has never been on vinyl before. and finally B2 is from the much sought after Eclipsed Records off-shoot label. So it's quite likely even the most hardcore KF fan will have no more than two of these tracks on vinyl, and will never have even heard one of them.
This will be out in around Octover/November, Clips and label scans coming soon
Ordered mine, had never heard this before but always nice to discover new tunes. Great stuff guys
Thanks for the support!
so RZ 002 has no different tracks then?
aye. stuck in 88-98. and very happy.
For me, music I liked DIED approx 10 years ago... That is sad, that NOTHING in the last 10 years has musically excited me.
I'm at Reading Festival this Saturday, and I checked the line-up - still lots of acts playing that were big 10 years ago, so just goes to show, NOTHING exciting has happened in 10 years...
Feel sorry for the teenagers of today - though I think they care very little for music, more about TV, social media...
If you've got the 4-tracker on Paradox, then no point getting Red Zone 2... You only really want the 2 B-sdie tracks anyway.
I only ever played "Have A Good Time"
I'm looking forward to this one landing.
History is written by the victors. Might be true, but it is a one sided view.
Will be giving the album a miss, I already have all the best tracks and there are too many tracks on each side on the vinyl edition.
Edd, I remember that night when Altern 8 where down. I think I was playing upstairs at the time and missed it. But do remember everyone in horror that he was playing off compilation albums. I think you most likely got stitched on that occasion.
i got DJ Clarkee EP Volume 2 (4 tracker) www.discogs.com/DJ-Clarkee-EP-Volume-II/master/182027 and I also have this one on my wants (I Get Hype 3 tracker) www.discogs.com/DJ-Clarkee-I-Get-Hype/master/221366 but due to an unexpected find on my hard drive i listened to the 3 tracker and apparenly these 3 tunes are already featured on the 4 tracker I have (Hardnoise has a different title here).
Can anybody with both records confirm please?
yes, I think we are indeed, which is somewhat sad. Recently I've been thinking about time, how years go by and to some extent I think I'm stuck into my own musical sound (I collect different genres, from hardcore to new-wave, post punk, 90's electronica, brit pop, etc...)
I think i cannot control the mainstream music scene as I did when I was 18-20, even 22 anymore, too many artists and styles and I hate with all my heart american pop (Rihanna and the likes), i don't like paying for digital releases and I don't have as much spare time for my hobbies as I used to, anyway, I consider that these periods go and come, sometimes I feel like I'll never stop buying old records but many other times I realize how stupid I am trying to feel the same as 15 years ago.
