So many good tunes on this label. I used to love the Illegal Pirate Radio albums, apart from the fact that they put too many tunes on each side so they were really quiet.

Really like some of their late 93 output. Especially the first 2, always surprised that they sell for absolute peanuts.

The 94-95 jungle on this label is proper! and goes for proper money too nowadays.
Everything else goes for peanuts it seems.

Re: Strictly Underground Records....
I also rate this label, some tracks are perhaps too similar but they had their own sound.
By the way, I have bought this 2xcd http://www.discogs.com/Various-Illegal- ... ase/247327 and the track by DJ Scoobie - Wait For The Bass seems to me a track by another artist, at least on my cd, can anybody check his copy?
Beware, internet downloads (I had one beforehand) might be deceitful as they replace it and the Drum & Bass Remix (4:40) is featured. The one on my cd is just 4:25 and it has the same sample as Citadel Of Kaos - Ronnie's Revenge (Can't Wait Tonight).

But in his defence, Mark Ryder is someone you can email/facebook (or what ever) & you will get a reply. You can even have disagreements with him over stuff & he does not get shitty with you. I used to antagonise him on Facebook all the time.
Re: Strictly Underground Records....
Yeah that's lame. SU always seemed to have some odd ideas though, like plastering their records with threats to sue anybody caught playing them on mixtapes etc... seemed like an odd stance for a label that revelled in the idea of being a little naughty themselves i.e releasing albums called 'Illegal Rave' etc...Elusive9T2 wrote:ian saunders remix wrote:I like a lot of the tunes, but he does appear on social media to be a bit of a..

Re: the later jungle stuff, always struck as a little odd how sought after it's become since (for as good as some of it is...) there isn't a single 'new' or original idea in any of it, and I can't ever recall anyone playing them on any sets bitd... maybe because of the aforementioned threats to sue :D
