Table for your decks?

Post by Restless » Mon Jun 30, 2014 11:30 am

Where did you get it from? Always seemed to be the trickiest bit of kit to find, IMHO.

I've been thinking of going down the Expedit route - Bookcase and some other bits to complete the look. Has anyone got this setup? What's it like, good or best avoided?

Got 2 of the old ikea single row, 5 cube vinyl shelf things stacked on top of each other, perfect hight and convenient for records. Does mean you have to have the decks lengthways, which is a shame as I prefer them vertical but other than that, perfect.

Currently custom build to fit my alcove, before that had similar custom shelf.

Kitchen top, metal furniture legs if needed and wall support.

did the ikea thing a couple months back wth 6 of them capita legs underneath. just have to be careful where to screw the legs since the boards have solid material only in the edges!

i went the opposite way and made a platform for the top using ikea legs to save screwing into the ikea expedit and it just sits on top of the expedit and its the perfect height so you dont brake your back

Here's mine, a nice old wooden side table for the decks and speakers (as said I hate clutter!) the cupboards below the decks are full of all my unsold vinyl releases stock

And the records just to the side in an Expedit...

I have my larger (25 unit) Expedit in the other room as it would be too big to fit in next to my computer desk (this bedroom is small). So I just bought a metal console table from CB2 for my turntables:

Best part is it has wheels that lock so I can move it around.

Good news is that the Expedit isn't being discontinued. Well it is, but it's being renamed to something else as they've made it less chunky around the edges, but the boxes in the middle will still be the same size.
