Can you play any instruments or tried to learn any?

Post by lien » Wed May 06, 2015 7:09 pm

I got a mate back in 2006'ish to pick me up a didgeridoo when he was down under & tried (failed big time) to learn to circular breath. I gave up after about 6 months of trying.

Not really, I did very basic music at school but can't remember any music theory at all. I'm the only non-musical person in my family, my parents and both brothers can all play the guitar!

Used to take piano lessons when i was 7-12.
This was best and last "choon" that i learnt to play: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WBku-Tzk0-w
Never really understood or had any interest in music theory though.
Can hardly read notes these days!

I really struggle with reading music. I'm sure it could be laid out in a simpler way - it's especially hard for piano as you have to read two lines at once which is just mental. I'm not bloody rain main.
My piano teacher is awesome though, he writes music for TV and adverts plus has worked with Krafty Kuts and has the same musical references as me. His knowledge of music is mind blowing.

Piano from 7-14, got to Grade 7 and passed Grade 5 Theory too. It took me 3 attempts to pass the theory though, i just didn't revise/understand much at all & I don't think my heart was in it at the time. It would be a doddle now that I'm actually interested in the subject !

So long as you didn't have lessons from Rolf I have no further questions.
