Absolutely! A proper film away from all the hollywood super-hero bullshit. Can't wait to see this.

I want to see Tinker, Tailor.. but i'm put off by the fact that the TV show was so fucking brilliant. I'm sceptical about squeezing 6 hours of plot, with all its nuances down into 2 hours. Plus, although Oldman & Hurt are great actors, they're not Alec Guinness or Ian Richardson.

I probably will go and see it at some point, which is rare for me as i hardly ever go to the pictures, but my expectations are set fairly low.

It's not too bad, but probably not something you'd watch again.
Different from the usual 'Big Film' style which made a nice change.

Update on the film 'Drive'.... no spoilers! ;)

I actually thought this film was good - not the epic it had been described as (funnily enough!), but good all the same.

The way they filmed a lot fo the scenes was awesome. Using a lot of subtle changes in light & kinda stylised slow-motion camera work -> all added to the atmosphere of the film. Definitely worth a watch & i would also say see it at the cinema to really get the best visual impact. I would also say that (surprisingly!) my girlfriend liked it too -> i say this because it is actually pretty damn violent in places which would normally have her walking towards the 'exit' signs... :D

However, i thought the storyline was pretty weak. I also thought the main villain was not really that believable... I won't say anymore as would not wish to give any of the plot away. It did remind me of Miami Vice meets Driver (as in the video game) in a weird kind of way. Worth a look ;)

Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy....

Well i finally got round to watching htis last night and i have to say i was a little disappointed to say the least. The acting was superb - some cracking performances...

I thought the plot was weak & where i thought they would have twisted the ending, there was nothing. I won't give anything away, but i felt they could have easily varied the story somewhat from the original (ok maybe not but it would have made the film a whole lot more interesting :) ). By the time they unearth said mole, for me the tension was lost. Any thoughts?

:(

Watched Troll Hunters last night, wasn't bad, not very scary but quite a good film. Was slightly disappointed as you get to see the trolls quite early on which I think spoils the effect of horror films compared with something like Cloverfield, where you only see glimpses of the beast near the end.
Going to watch I saw the devil and Red State this week. Something different I saw recently was Attack the Block, which I thought was great. Story was decent and fresh British actors too, worth a watch and will make you laugh. My favorite line would have to be 'Why would Aliens come to South London?'... 'Because they want a fight innit!'
