pete.devnull wrote:yeah the Grooverider one gets serious points since the rest of the music drops out for a good minute or two and it's just mad echoed mentasms... Almost wish I had the normal black vinyl version of that instead of the picture disc, as the pic disk is pretty harsh, trebbly and trashy.

I think a lot of that song (including the synths) was recycled into "Saint Angel" by Goldie... I have no idea if it was originally a Rufige Kru tune or what.
James Speedo wrote:Grooverider - Sinister, as said.

Some of the severest stabs on there.
Nice one. I've only got the pic disc and not heard the original - never has a title been truer though, Sinister.

First heard it on a mix tape (think it was Fusion) where Grooverider comes on to replace Top Buzz. Mad P carries on MCing even over Sinister although his work is done as Jason Kaye has fucked off.

As you say, v prob a Rufige tune as it has the vocal sample "the rufige" in it. Innit.

Forgot, this is a great choice too.. I love how the other side of this record is so crazy it borders on experimental :)

Here's a 30 minute 91-92 mix I did back in march that starts with that Dread track, followed by 4 more mentasmy / heavy synth tunes.

I don't think I posted it here because it's largely anthem bashing :) First 2 tunes are about as heavy mentasm wise as it gets tho... (quantum leap into, err... mentasm)

I would like to hear mr. Beltram experimenting with this sound again, don't think it will happen though
| think that this sound kicks ass if used properly, like the reversed hoovers used in "here comes the drumz"

how did i forget this: http://www.discogs.com/release/281144
Also has marvelous use of some weird noises from Predator 2 and a great amen beat that gets driven through a phaser/flanger at the best points. Way better than the official release on Face. I think this mite actually be the original version of the tune rather than a "remix" ...

Pretty mean one halfway through Scott + Keith "get busy crew", kind of weird given how nice and chill the rest of the track is.
