I just picked up this obscure record from Discogs, no audio clips so it was a gamble:
http://www.discogs.com/Ash-A-Tack-Mothe ... ter/406902
Now it's arrived, I honestly have no idea what speed it is supposed to be played at. It sounds stupid at both! Here's an MP3 clip of both sides, played at 33 and then 45 RPM at 0% pitch.

I can't work it out, see what you think! It's definitely not a '93 breakbeat hardcore record, that much I can tell!

45 surely? At least the other side, many tunes from this era were around the same tempo

Haha, it's hard to tell, although I think that first track sounds better on 33.
Looking at his other work suggests it must be a 45 though and it says he worked at Camden Tunes, Lucky Spin and Blackmarket.

33 defo, the kicks and hats are way too pitched at 45.
What a weird 12, I like it though!

I'd say 33 as well.
Bit of an odd record though - as you said on FB, the vocals sound too slow on 33, but the rest of the track sounds better on 33.

33, doesn't sound like a 93 tune at all, good find though.

Hi,
It is 33rpm, all the others on the label are 33rpm.
Agreed, sounds bit naff, but defo can't be played at 45...

Gachet & Randall play Mother 2 Lousey at 45 on tapes I've got from March 1993

Hi,
Yes, it was played out by jocks in 93, and always at 45, but doesn't mean that was the correct RPM

I can only guess that he sampled slower drum loops and sped them up, but unlike most breakbeats that sounds good pitched up, the house loops he used sound terrible. I think it must be 45 purely because of the vocal samples, but it sounds terrible.
