Definition Of Living

Post by dj_gyr8 » Thu Apr 09, 2015 11:59 am

Hi,

So I'm gonna record a load of dubs this weekend, finally got everything set up, and cleaning lots of dubs...

Now, I got Definition Of Living (Amen version) but approx 1cm chip in dub at the start, where dub fell on floor.

Now, all it is missing is the intro from Hellraiser, it still plays just before the "Dictation..." sample when the beats start.

Do you know where I can get the intro from? Is it on the 'original' version on that album?

Could I even take it from film?

I'd really like to get it re-cut to dub, but with the intro, as I so want to start sets with the full track, with that intro...

I've got the intro on YAMAN Bukem 12, but obviously its only cassette quality...

I noticed the version the Harmony has on his Soundcloud starts with the half-speed beats, no intro...

It's from Hellraiser II - I just grabbed a dvd rip of the audio when I make my remake & added some reverb etc.

Hi,

How good is your remake, compared to the actual version?

No point me getting my dub re-cut with the intro, if your version does it all...

I guess the version on YAMAN 12 is pretty much the whole track.

What did you use as reference for the remake?

My remake is the released version (from original cd), balanced correctly (as one channel was much louder on the cd) with the amens carefully put over the top & then the intro added.

I'll pm you a link to the last version I did.

RG version was more than good enough to cut a dub off, i did. Sounds sweet.

Can't remember now - I only took the main cd version & added the beats (which is harder than it sounds - keeping the buggers in time! :) ).

Hi,

I've not listened to the CD version, only the actual Amen version from YAMAN 12, and my dub, which are identical.

Have you listened to the version from YAMAN 12, as it is possible the CD version differs in arrangement etc from the Amen version...

The biggest 'issue' you may have is that the original beats will be underneath the amens.
As for the arrangement - I didn't change the cd one - I didn't compare them side by side too closely - to me & everyone who's had a copy, it's close enough since he won't put it out.
