Yeah that's the one. Wicked set. I remember buying the CD back in '94 and had the video free with it. Still got the CD, but the video went missing somewhere, quite the elusive video to find too.

:)

Peace...

Hi,

It is coming back to me now, Ravelation wasn't it, and the flyers were massive - had loads of promoting BITD, think we received more of these A2 flyers than any other event.

Was a weird flyer too, as the selling point was a photo of the venue...

I know a few people who went and they didn't rate it, and wished they'd joined us at Dreamscape VIII.

I had the CD through with some vinyls and I remember thinking it was pretty naff, as by the end of 1993 a mix of SU only tracks sounded so dated.

I got a feeling they had a few DJ's not turn up on the night?

T'wasn't a great night. It was 1994/95 so not Dreamscape 8 on the same night. The venue wasn't set up right for it to feel welcoming, World Dance managed it, so it was possible. I think by that particular time most of the ravers in the scene were too young and were there to try and look cool or take as many drugs as possible and also by that point the split in the scene was very pronounced, so people constantly moving between rooms dented the vibe.
The venue on the front of the flyer was actually Wembley Conference Centre but the actual venue were the Exhibition halls round the back.

Hi,

Exactly my point - the flyer kinda tricked ppl into thinking it was at the proper Wembley - they even had the logos etc on the flyers.

Yes, sorry - got confused with my NYE's.

Yes, 94/95 was not a great NYE anywhere, I was at Dreamscape 15 vs 16 and the music divide was VERY evident.

It was a shame, as the kids that wanted to be cool, pretended to like Jungle, whilst the crazy kids on multiple pills went mad for the Happy stuff, which was now far too cheesy.

I remember thinking, this COULD have been the best rave EVER, but so many little things went wrong, not least the satelite link up screens and the CS gas...

They lineup was great, but the set order was so wrong...

Was great to see old names like Ratty and Swanee, but some of the top names like Hype and Ellis Dee were not very good...

The satalite linkup was NYE 95/96 Dreamscape 21

I loved the Wembley Conference Centre as a venue, went to several World Dances and the One Nation/Fusion match made at Wembley in 96..

Went to a speed garage rave there NYE 98 called Pure Silk, and that was aweful!!

I went to this - not the best tbh and as mentioned the music split was very obvious - i don't think i went into the happy arena at all.

Other events at the same venue were a lot better

I went to a World Dance there just before Xmas 94 and it was OK. One of the last raves I went to I think.... One of my mates went to Ravealation and wasn't overly impressed......

i was at this. it was advertised as happy ll night, and actually sad no jungle. in the end it was nearly totally the other way round. and then the cloakroom brokedown at the end and everyone just jumped in and grabbed what they wanted. not sure why i came home with my actual got, could of upgraded. never realsied that the picture wasnt of the actual venue it was at!!!

Was Ravelation Mark Ryder's promotion? Or were they different promoters but these events were held in conjunction with SU?
