Looks like an awful gig.

Good to see she's still around (and still hot), but how relevant is she these days in the Drum & Bass scene?

The ever terrible DJ Rap. "I'm a jedi on Ableton" lol, of course you are :D

What's with the weird American crossover accent?

That rave does look awful. A far cry from the raves of the 90's.

Zero relevance.

Pretty much the same for most of the old big dogs. The only exception that springs to mind off the top of my head is Doc Scott.

Haha!

"Impressionable" is the word I think that you're looking for (when someone's accent changes).

Looks like an American version of "The Dog & Duck" but midweek! Hahaha.

So how relevant are Fab, Groove, Micky Finn, Randall & Hype these days then mate?

Hi,

Did anyone actually like Rap BITD, I don't know anyone who played her cassettes...

She had like 2 or so good track back in 92/93, but I never liked her label Proper Talent.

Also, a lot of her tracks sounded like most of the input came from the engineer/programmer...

"Spiritual Aura" and "Divine Rhythm" are classics.

The latter was rare as f*ck and used to fetch a ton when the first revival came along. Upwards of £70! Still fetches top dolla now.

gyr8 is right. I rarely ever listened to her tapes as there is literally 20+ DJ's I'd rather listen to before I listen to her.

Was she even the best female DJ on the scene back then? What with Kem & Storm, Fallout etc?

Hi,

Agreed, those are the only good tracks IMO, it is a shame the productions didn't stay as good through 93 onwards.

I still think both sound more like 'engineers' tracks...

Hype tbf is still relevant, and True Playaz label is still one of the biggest labels... Not that anything he puts out is of any interest to me personally these days...

Groove has been regarded as a joke since he came out of prison... Mickey Finn for a long time too. I think they are still clinging on to fame at these weird kind of 'Jump up' raves that seem to have become almost a sort of a self-contained scene within themself, where the order of the day is the most garish kind of trash imaginable combined with 30 MC's.

Randall still gets a lot of respect and can still deliver the goods, but I don't think he holds much relevance outside of a few older heads who still actively seek him out.

Fabio, not really sure what he is doing anymore!?

Loads of good early releases on Proper Talent. I think Pete Parsons was at the controls for most of these.

I think Finn has fallen more into the "classic jungle sets" box, Randall for the serious/cool nights (Metalheadz, Fabric, Shogun etc), Groove kinda the same but still the odd appearance at commercial raves, same for Hype but plays a hell of commercial events, and Fabio more the same way as Randall but for events catering to his style.

No doubt most of them get a ton of work abroad.

Yeah love that tune. First 3-4 releases on Proper Talent were fantastic, also "Rumble" later on is great too.

Did anyone else buy the "Intelligence" 3 x 12" she released with Voyager ? Theres a tune on there called "Mad Up" which i love & quite a few others.

Remember raving to quite a few Rap sets, decent DJ she played good stuff.

She's been living in America some time now, not sure what her music is like these days! She still looks good :D
