Oldskool Videos

Post by dj_gyr8 » Mon Feb 24, 2014 1:32 pm

Hi,

Now, I know there are plenty of old cassettes uploads to the internet, but what about videos?

Almost every 'big' event BITD had a video for sale.

Some oldskool rave videos with LIVE audio, only the 1st part of each video is linked:

unfortunately most videos tended to just use a random tape as the soundtrack, so you had no idea what was really playing during the filming..

I actually preferred the 'edited' videos with highlights of the footage and a proper soundtrack. Fantazia's "Ultimate Rave Collection" is probably the best example, that's a really good video. The ones with actual rave footage/sound were just a distorted mess of noise and a sea of monged corpses. They definitely didn't sell the experience!

Hi,

I remember one promoter did proper recorded audio from the mixing desk, but had interviews with the DJs and crowd mixed through out.

Vibalite, and Helter Skelter had some pretty good ones.

Oh, totally agree about those that were simply a video cam visual and audio duplicate - completely pointless

most of the events I went to that have videos look no where near as good in the video as being there imo. there are some tho that look amazing like the sunrise one - but I was too young for that one :(

The only thing that I know of featured Coventry Eclipse was the Hitman and Her special.

A few years back someone on here constantly requested videos that were all going to be ripped and put online. Whatever happened with that?

Peace...

i wouldn't mind so much... but the idiots that are buying them are then uploading these to youchoob as thier own rips, with no download link and claiming to be the hero of oldskool lovers

Heh heh, yeah you're spot on with that. But at least a chunk of them are "out there" for people to enjoy or get nostalgic about. It's all coolio.

I've got a load on VHS;

Dreamscape 7+8, 10, 11
World Dance
Eclipse (Hit Man & Her)
Amnesia House (The Wedding)
Fantazia Donnington
Sunrise
One Nation

But I don't even have a video recorder any more to play them on.. LOL

I tried for years to lay my hands on any footage from Oscars (Destiny The Cream) which was my local in 93-95 but never found any :(
