Watermarking works, we used to do it with all our promo CDs.

Only problem now, esp with WAV, is ppl can quite easily removed the unique signal, and thus no longer watermarked :-(

Unfortunelty, there will always be ppl out there who specifically try to upload to pirate sites etc.

IMO, if they simply got rid of all this file-sharing, the problem would be eliminated.
if its a well used or known system then yes its easy to find the watermark - alot of them just add some crap code to the metadata which you can just delete

Our system is developed by us and no one else uses it so makes it a lot harder to find out how we use it and what we are doing to ID the material sold through our site

Obviously im not going into details on it but it works and we look forward to using it to catch people uploading to P2P sites :0

Hi,

We mainly used Alchemy, as their system is pretty much unbreakable. Sony had their own, which was pretty good.

Yes, would everyone please just stop it, at once?

Hi,

I've never file-shared once, in my whole life.

I guess too many ppl do it a few times, never get caught, so carry on doing it forever. Total Hippocrates most of them!

Why would you need to with a warehouse full of vinyl?

Hi,

That is why I've amassed such a huge amount, because I only ever want the actual vinyl, not a MP3
