Discogs warning - User Yasmine.Vidal

Post by BrianBadonde » Fri Oct 25, 2013 7:30 am

Anyone with half a brain doesn't need this warning but ill put it out there anyway.

Discogs user Yasmine Vidal, new seller

http://www.discogs.com/user/Yasmine.Vidal

I knew what to expect but in any case I offered to buy all three on conditions of pictures of the tunes and meeting with cash.

Instant reply received below [:D]

Hi, I am very interested in buying all three of the trupers from you.

As you are a new seller, could you please just take a quick picture of them all together with a piece of paper showing your discogs username?

also I could meet you with cash to collect them if we can come to a price

Im sure these will not be a prob as you are a new seller with no history. Gotta start somewhere right?!
My friend i dont know if you read carefully my profile.
Those records are my brothers collection.
He died 10 days ago at a car crash.
Selling the records because remind me of him and cant stand it.All the income will go to charity.
I live in Bournemouth.
And because i am totally irrelevant with vinyls and all that what do you mean with this photo?

Way too many expensive/rare vinyls in that for sale list compared to cheap/common stuff for my liking as well.

Isn't it amazing how incredibly thick these scammers always are. If only they realised saying nothing at all is better than their appallingly written sob-stories, they may actually fool somebody.

Zero feedback is such a gamble. Remember when we all got mugged on those copies of Eastern Promise years ago? Little shit then had the audacity to email me and gloat! Don't think I ever got my money back, in hindsight I should have smelt a rat, multiple copies at 25 quid.

I did also get a mint Dark Rider for 16 quid from mysickvinyl when he had zero which was some consolation. Turned out to be a fantastic seller I've done a lot of deals off discogs with since.

This guy went to all the trouble of getting some decent feedback then so not only the zero feedback sellers you have to be wary of

I took a cautious approach with this user - but as they're new gave them some benefit of doubt.

I then read this thread and that was when the story got put up on their profile about selling tunes for their 'deceased brother'.

In this case, I said all I would need is photo evidence of an item existing, before I could continue. It turned into 'the items are at my brothers', 'i'll send photo's', then 'you've got good feedback I'll send the item first and when you get, you pay me'.

I notice this morning that the profile has been cleared and no items for sale! I had an inkling this was going to be all very dubious early on, hence being very careful and no rush to send any payment, and so appears the case!

Im glad you saw this thread. Im also glad you weren't stung! I have been on discog's back to deal with this fraud account since I made the post. Seems they've finally done something.
