The tune was thought of during a poker game, the fat controller was playing with a mate of mine one late night, with Janet Jacksons album on in the background. He heard the sample and the rest is happy hardcore history! Top tune, and my fav from that era.

Agreed, an excellent piece of music. Nothing original in it at all though! Didn't Slipmatt have a lot to do with it? It sounds like he did anyway.

Just looked at the repress on Discogs, and according to the label the original mix was made in 93:

http://www.discogs.com/Fat-Controller-I ... ase/128916

Surely not? I had it on loads of 94 tapes but nothing earlier. It was a bit slow compared to a lot of 94 tunes though so I guess it's possible.

Defo 94 without a doubt.

Was never a fan of this tune, was an early Happy Hardcore anthem and i had joined the darkside long before!

Quite a few mates loved it though, remember seeing lots of battered copies! Each to their own :D

Hard to remember, could well be very late '93.

There are loads of incorrect year listings on Discogs, take this for example listed as 1993 :

Its definitely not 1993, but 1992 as it was played at Fantazia Showcase Nov '92 by Easygroove

isn't the house tune it's "inspired" by from 94 as well?

i was never a massive fan of the original...prefer the 95 remix, has a nice stab section. and as its quite a cheesy tune it works better in that style imo. but even then it's not one of my favourites from that era.

i'm sure i read that "take me away" on remix was inspired by it...imo that's the better track.

Yeah, Rollo Goes Camping is from 94.

I forget which other tune it's 'inspired' by. Something by Talking Heads?

*edit* Found it. Severed Heads - Greater Reward:
