Re: ** Youtube Channel Owners Important **

Youtube is our online archive for hardcore and HardcoreJunglism.com are trying to delete it. In the process they could possibly make themselves the least popular people in the oldskool scene. I always hoped those youtube uploads from MartynWebster and similar channels will be their for decades to co...

Re: ** Youtube Channel Owners Important **

Another oldskool head here who wont be using the HardcoreJunglism site because of this. Just to echo the sentiments that others have already expressed, Hardcore Junglism should have run alongside the already established 90's hardcore youtube channels which are in no way a threat to mp3 sales. In fac...

Re: Thoughts on the Acid House scene of old?

Love it. Wish i was able to be a part of that scene but was just a bit too young at the time, I only heard the anthems, a few tapes & compilations in the late 80s but when the hardcore/jungle split took place in 94 I went back to the chicago house & detroit techno sound & caught up on a lot of the t...

Re: What makes a tune "Intelligent"?

Not really sure where the term originated from, but my guess is it probably had more to do with trendy media types keen to slap labels on genres rather than the D&B scene in general. I remember this discussion being had in the early days of D&B forums and the overwhelming opinion being that everybo...

Re: 100 greatest hardcore trunes ever!

I doesn't matter mate, it IS cheese anyway, it was meant to be cheese. I needed to climb up from the basement for some extra cash. Trumpton does not belong in there To be honest, I doubt Trumpton would make any of the members of this sites top 100! Wouldn't make mine anyway. But this would, quite e...

Just to clarify, that wasn't meant to be an insult! Always bare in mind that whenever addressing you I'm doing my level best not to come across like a screaming old lady at a Donnie Osmond concert

Re: 100 greatest hardcore trunes ever!

I'd say Energy Flash was made to be a techno track, it came out on Derrick Mays Transmat Records after all, which along with KMS & Metroplex pretty much defined the techno sound 1985 - 1990. However it was a massive hit on our scene wasnt it? Hardcore was always a mix of styles to me. Pretty good ch...

I can remember Urban Shakedown's Some Justice getting that kind of reaction at Sterns / Interdance in 1992 as if it were yesterday
