Re: 33 or 45 - Opinions Needed

I don't think 33 would be right for it, I'm going with Ornette's idea that it's in the middle some place. Something fucked up speed wise on the master to result in this bizarre tempo on both speeds. One thing is certain though, if the tune is meant to be played at 45 for the press... it wasn't made ...

Re: 33 or 45 - Opinions Needed

This isn't equated down to a perfect 33, but I have pitched it down to the speed I think it should be.

To my ears that sounds about right for it, especialy right at the end when you hear the ragga vocal.

Re: Sacred Do It Together (what's the vocal from?)

Just heard the Cut & Run remix :|

I wonder if everyone is using RG's edited sample which he posted out on the net, or if they are getting it from the original source?

Re: if there's one tune, that

It's got to be... DJ RED ALERT MIKE SLAMMER - IN EFFECT It successfully mixes both happy and dark seamlessly into the same tune, and one of the last big anthems to do it before the split started getting noticed. The piano and atmospheric breakdown is enough to get the hands in the air crew jumping u...

Re: Prodigy - Invaders Must Die

They have admitted they had a lot of problems with making this album. As you said though, I don't get why they used this D&B style of production on it. It's not even used by the D&B community much any more due to people being fed up hearing the style. Pendulum got kinda kicked out due to their repet...

Re: "Lifting" vocals from a track

Here we go, a demo of using it for this kinda thing on youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hUZeE5vMZTI&eurl=http%3A%2F%2Fphotosounder%2Ecom%2Fexamples%2Ephp&feature=player_embedded Sounds damn impressive from that. Something really cool it does is it's ability to change the speed of the wav whil...

Re: "Lifting" vocals from a track

Doesn't look like it m8. Best you could do with that is try and EQ it. To make things worse it's from the 80's, so even if there was clear parts matching the chorus there is no guarantee it would be a perfect match, being in the analog era. The synths will be drifting, the melody's might even been p...

Re: "Lifting" vocals from a track

Only way u might do it is with an original cd / wav file of the track & mixing an instrumental over the top (inverted), which should leave the vocal behind. To be honest, I've never managed to do it. Well I can say it does work great if it's from CD or on WAV from perfectly matched edits, you can c...

Expert (or not so) Village!

I honestly can't believe some of the video tutorials they are putting out, I keep searching for the small print from them saying it's a joke. Here are two classics. How to Create Sound Effects. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EZ_vgOCeBrY&feature=channel The 'professional' in this video is high as a m...
