Re: DJ Hixxy

"inside of me", surely? Hey Traffic Cone - you know your stuff. I'm on the lookout for newish hardcore, spurred into action by hearing In The Moment by Cube::Hard. What a tune! If it had come out when I was raving it would have given me a fucking heart attack. What else should I be listening to? I f...

Re: what does this sample say? '93 darkside tune

Ah yes, 'come in my selecta' sounds about right, so perhaps I'm wrong about the first bit... why anyone would want to show a gun to a DJ I have no idea.

what does this sample say? '93 darkside tune

Right, this has for some reason been bugging me for ages. Clean Gun by Ed Rush & Trace on Lucky Spin, the sample right at the start - "something something I'll show you my gun"... any ideas?

Almost - the sample ended with a rather terse sounding 'FUCK YOU!' and a dial tone.

Re: DJ Hixxy

His remix of The Timepsan's Shout Now on Kniteforce is a wonderful record... You really cannot mean this tune can you?! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tUqBrDMcV4M  That's exactly the one I mean, yeah - it's an excellent remix; I love the way it never lets up even for a second. And it's a littl...

Re: Records you paid WAY too much for

I remember bidding £40 for that JJ version of 99 Red Balloons! It was for ages my most sought-after tune, bar none. I was gutted to be outbid but managed to buy it for £5 the very next day in an extremely unlikely fluke.

Re: Vicious Pumpin' Plastic DJ KP question

Thanks Thumpson, that's great. I never realised there was a different version of Stoned on VIC008. The one on VIC005 is a winner. You have them all? Very impressive!

Vicious Pumpin' Plastic DJ KP question

Hi all - I'm on an .mp3 organising mission at the minute and I have two DJ KP tunes (from Illegal Pirate Radio comps) that I'm not sure about. Does anyone know which VPP releases contained (i) Stoned and (ii) In The Jungle? Discogs says that Stoned appeared on VIC005 (Dreams EP), but then it also ha...

Re: Rave Mags

Yeah it went weird after Dreamscape Murray died in summer '96. They had a glossy black edition with a big Christian cross on the front and after that I don't remember reading a copy. I quite liked To The Core magazine though.

Re: Urban Jungle - Back in the Days

Thanks for the replies chaps; that discussion on rolldabeats is indeed very interesting. So the skip story is true! Incredible to think of all those VPP vinyls being thrown out.
