Re: would you ever include East 17 in a DJ mix?

poorly sung love ballad about him losing his bird. Identity crisis much? It's actually about his brother who committed suicide. I only know that because a long time ex girlfriend was fully into the band as a teenager. Well I just had to Google that. Here are the lyrics. Bit odd if you ask me. Baby ...

Re: would you ever include East 17 in a DJ mix?

I pride myself on being able to throw anything on vinyl into a mix. E17? No. They are lamer than a 3 legged donkey with Ebola. That tune of theirs 'Stay' or whatever it's called is a joke. Turn the volume down and look at the vid. Wannabe gangster wiggers to the full. You'd think they are talking ab...

Re: 1210s playing up.

Rage. I do have quite a lot of stuff plugged in. 2 decks, mixer, PC and monitor, stereo. I'll make a new lead and split the load. Gyr8. Yeah, I've had them from new in the early 90s. I can strip them down but it's finding the time. They are going to a shop for the Dicer mod in the new year so I'll p...

1210s playing up.

I was listening to a tune the other day and the turntable suddenly speeded up, then slowed down, it did it a couple more times and then no more and hasn't done it since.

Re: DJing Without Headphones

I suppose you have to get yourself out there and in the public eye, but it's nothing new or special. If you want to learn to turntable check out DJ Angelo. His tutorials are very very good.

His Funky Turntablism vid is one of the best routines I have ever seen.

For me it's a toss up between Here Comes the Drumz or FBD Projects Breaking Up/The Core.

I was spending a lot of time at Fabric and the Colosseum in Vauxhall. It had a good old school room.

Re: DJ RAP TAKEOVER

Rap made her own tunes, Pete Parsons was the engineer extraordinaire, but she banged out the strings, loops, samples on the keys and did the arranging. She wasn't a bad DJ, did well for herself in the scene. Nice lady too.

Re: New Acen

It's ok, it sounds like a tune made by someone who's been out of the scene for a while, which he has.
Acen and Dice made loads of bangers. Murderous Style is an incredible early jungle tune and one of my all time favorites.
