Re: Your Favourite Detroit Techno Records

I bought a Detroit techno LP in 1991 and was well gutted when I listened to it. I was expecting banging techno, not 80s pop music. Obviously now I am sophisticated and mature so I appreciate it.

Re: Interesting Dutch Hardcore documentary

Thanks for the link. Very interesting. I still find it weird seeing all those raving skin heads though. I was well into gabber for a few years, still makes my hair stand on end hearing it in the film.

I scanned issue 12 last night. Two pages are missing near the front, probably used for wraps or something.

Do the class of 87 dislike 92 hardcore in the same way I can't stand American EDM?

Almost peed myself watching this the other day, Coxy was as good as the other dj was bad. The synch button didn't seem to work.

Re: Least/most memorable Rave...

Southern Exposure first or second birthday. My mate did the lights, apparently Friday night was rammed, but they tried a house event on the Saturday. It was deserted and we had crappy pills. The only good part was Slipmatt playing in a little side room.

Re: How did you learn to mix?

Still can't do it. I bought belt drive decks in 1993 and failed to learn. I could never tell which tune was faster once they got close. Sold them to my brother when I moved to the states in 96. Just bought a a Numark N4 for my mid life crisis. The sync button is my friend. Planning to try mixing vin...

On a different note... in the past I would curse unmixed cd compilations, but now they are coming in handy =D
Same here, I have a few cds with mixed and unmixed discs. Most of the unmixed are unplayed, now they are indeed handy.
