Another dusty one from the loft.....this time from 1992...

https://soundcloud.com/justin-sturman-1/unknown-dj-summer-1992-hardcore-mix Bad quality recording - good quality tunes: One of my favourite tapes from BITD - A lot of my IDs have been based on this mix. Start of the tape is more 'Hardcore Techno', but gets more straight up 1992 as we hit side 2.......

'Local' 1991 Business

https://soundcloud.com/justin-sturman-1/dj-tecx-xmas-kicks-1991

All the way from Xmas 1991 via a shoebox in my loft.

'DJ TECX @ Kicks from the Braintree Institute'

Questionable mixing, but a decent tune selection that includes 'House Is Mine','Somebody Better Groove' and 'Sensory Deception'.

Re: Anybody thought about selling up and going digital?

What are the best DJ controllers that you can also use as mixers with turntables? Serato Scratch live I think? You use your normal turntables/mixer but have an extra box to plug in and you mix normally with special vinyl that emulates the real thing. Never tried it but seems to be far and away the ...

I'm sure he'll be thrilled!

I think saying that they're 'naff' is probably the stupidest thing that you've ever posted.... And there's a large volume to choose from.......

Re: Vibes & Wishdokta - Fantasia

House and Garage are still 'Electronic' and arguably made in the same fashion as 'breakbeat'. I'm not sure that it proves Grant Nelson is more diverse really, especially as Jilted Generation has a lot of different styles.......certainly a lot more different styles than 'Experience'......

Re: Do you guys collect anything...

Trainers. I have around 70ish pairs, old Air Jordans, Adidas Torsions, various other Adidas from the 70s and 80s, loads of Dunlop Greenflash. Nice, I have several pairs of Jordan VI in my favourite colours. Have always loved them since getting a pair of the black/infrared ones back in 1992. Sadly I...

Re: Do you guys collect anything...

I've started getting back into comics - especially Alan Moore stuff: Swamp Thing, Tom Strong, 1963, Future Shocks etc.. I suppose I've also started collecting Trainers again: Just got a nice pair of green Trimm Trabs (that my wife hates) to go with my Saucony Grid 9000's and my Puma Suedes. And I've...

Re: Cars from bitd

I didn't - I didn't start driving until 1998 when I was 23 (when my first car was a Y reg Mk 1 1.1 Fiesta).... Obviously I used to cadge lefts with my mates during the 'golden years' of 91 - 93, whose cars included: > Another 1.1 Mk1 Fiesta > Yet another 1.1 Mk1 Fiesta, this time with XR2 pepperpots...

Both mixes of this - plus there's a Breaks remix that came out in the early 2000's when the head of Botchit & Scarper passed away.....

Re: Which DJ Decks Should I buy?

Technics all day long. Its why I've never sold mine even though they've been in the loft for 5 years - I know I'll use them again when we get a bigger gaff, they're pretty much guaranteed to still work after 5 years + of storage (even though i got them used about 15 years ago), and if I had sold the...

So - there was the 'common' EDGE remix (that everyone and his mother had) and another remixed version?
I've only ever heard the 'common' one - who'd a thunk it after all this time.
Just goes to show.

Re: CDJ's & traktor vs Serato- Advise pls

Personally I'd go for a decent DJ controller. I don't really see the point in getting CDJ's....... If you splashed out on the Pioneer Aero you can connect to a tablet to pull the tunes in from wirelessly so you don't even need a laptop. I think some of them read Flash drives as well........
