Re: Sample cracked!

I assume Jonny L has been asked. Has he just refused to say what it is? Also Trax is on Facebook iirc, again, I assume he's been asked... My guess is Do It Together is from some obscure old soul or house record. There's so many of these on Discogs that have about 2 owners and were clearly limited pr...

Re: Technical tune description thread

I'm still curious as to what differentiates techno to house. And what happened to it in the 90s? Did it get reappropriated into house, what? Would like to know In the 90s it just went on to become an increasingly distinctive genre in its own right, and has done ever since. I guess at the most basic...

Re: Cleveland City Records

Was digging through these on Discogs the other day. Most not to my taste but there's a few good ones in there. Direct 2 Disc - Don't Stop as mentioned above, and this one is great:

Re: Mythology & Perception

Came back put on one or 2 events under the name "Devotion" in Cardiff Both of those looked excellent, heard a lot about the first one but nothing about the second. The first sticks in my mind because the flyer made a big deal of having a full size replica of a B52 bomber hanging from the ceiling. P...

Re: Photek/Truper Box Set from Basement

Just had a listen to these properly for the first time. They're nice enough although I couldn't pick them out from a lot of other tracks from that era that are worth much less. Worth listening to just for discovering this video though. I can't believe he could be bothered to do that for the whole tr...

Re: Vibes & Wishdokta - Fantasia

Nah, I just think you're an idiot anyway. You always seem to derail threads with your ramblings, or your thoughts on happy hardcore and then go on a tangent about some foreign producers who, in your opinion, make great music when in fact they make the worst music going. My opinion was that as great...

Re: M8 Magazine

I remember it, Scottish wasn't it? Mainly, although it did feature a few articles on raves/clubs down south. It was quite decent in the mid 90s, lots of coverage on music that wasn't really touched on by the English magazines (i.e. Scottish/Dutch hardcore and gabber) but as hardcore died in Scotlan...

Re: Are Raindance calling it a day?

I could be wrong as I haven't been to one in years - 2006 was the last time I think - but I suspect it also suffered from the fact that it was synonymous with The Drome/SEOne and as is often the case when a night changes venue, "it's just not the same".

Here you go: "this was are own label but great asset were behind it , they pressed up some test presses not really sure as to how many there pressed , or if any of the top djs were given copies , long time ago now never really new why the records were never fully distributed ,but we did drop great a...

Worth noting that FOLS/Mystic & Fire/The Eliminators are all the same 2 people. One of them is on Discogs, I've just sent him a message asking for more info :)

Re: Game Changers: Goldie 'Terminator'

Happy Hardcore game changing? I've heard it all now lol It was though, wasn't it? An entire set of DJs, MCs and promoters suddenly switched to a sound that was hugely different to what they'd been involved with for the years up until then. You might not like it but you must agree that it was a sign...

Re: Tracks that blew you away..

Most people seem to have misunderstood the original question :) I'm struggling to think of any old skool track that really blew me away when I first heard it that I don't still enjoy. For me I think it's a lot of techno in the late 90s - I got hugely into techno at this time and what I was hearing w...
